In a previous post I posted some pics showing dirt on my neighbor's BMW wheels. I spent 45 minutes using soap & a DP Cleaner; total drag and still not clean. It was suggested that I take a look at wheel cleaners by Stoners & Somax. I only had about 10 minutes to experiment w/ the products because hurricane Alex is throwing some rain bands at San Antonio. Pic 1 is wheel after 45 min of DP & soap; pic 2 is wheel before Somax; pic 3 is Somax after 5 min soaking w/ minimal work on my part; pic 4 is wheel before Stoners pic 5 is Stoners w/ some minor work on my part. Both wheels were agitated w/ Daytona & wire brushes sold by AG. So far both products seemed to work great. When the rain slows down & I spend some quality time w/ the wheel, I'll see how they finish out; but both of these products will be in my supply closet.

Sat, I went ahead and linked those pics to this reply at full size.

Poorboys Spray/Rinse might also be a nice choice, its strong and effective but follow directions exactly as offered for best results.

I told you the Sonax would work :xyxthumbs:
It and Iron Cut are both great products.

Cobalt9123 I really appreciate your advice. The sun's out today, it's humid as crap, but I'm looking forward to spending some time w/the Somax. Great suggestions, thanks. Next time around I'll some Megs & Poorboys...but I gotta say, the Somax & Stoners are nice products.

Follow up question. I've been using DP Wheel dressing, I'm running out- anybody have a favorite wheel polish/dressing/whatever that they absolutely love?

No problem :xyxthumbs:

A wheel wax? I'm kind of confused as a dressing is something you usually put on tires and a wheel wax is kind of what you described...the two products I use and love for wheels and tires are Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel (Have also heard great things about Poorboy's bold n bright) and for the wheels I use Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant. However, any strong sealant will work on the wheels (if they are painted).

Sorry for the confusion Cobalt. I've read various posts where guys/girls use a variety of terms to describe things. I currently use Optimum on the tires and I really like the look. I use DP paste on the wheels, it seems to be alright; I was asking if someone uses a product on the wheels- to help stop break dust from collecting, gives good overall protection, and gives a great look- that they would strongly suggest I try. I have a Corvette coming in next week that needs some wheel work.
