Megs GC vs NXT shampoo

Ok, this has been nagging at my mind all day, and I cannot seem to find the answer. What is the difference between Gold Class Shampoo, and NXT Shampoo? What would be better to use in one application? In another?
I read that the NXT has water softeners in it, do these make any difference?

NXT cleans better, GC leaves behind a nice shine and more gloss.

I have also heard that nxt will strip cars of their carnauba wax protection -- have you found this to be that case at all?
