I was wondering the same because i had used the Z6 / Z8 combo as well and wasn't sure if there was anything in the FK lineup to "tag team" FK425 with .... FK 100 perhaps ?? TIA
 
Fk146 is synthetic based and looks more like a sealant, crisp and reflective.
 
I am loading up my wish list in preparation for the upcoming Labor Day sale and I have a gallon of FK 425 and a gallon of Aquawax on the list. I have been using my small bottle of Aquawax for several weeks, I really like it. I am ONR washing about 1 to 2 times per week and doing a 2 bucket hose wash on the weekends. I have been using Aquawax after each wash and I am questioning the need for the gallon of FK 425. I am using Megs UQD now for minor touch ups, bird bombs etc...

Am I thinking right, or would you be using the FK more, or in place of the Aquawax .I like the idea of the added protection the Aquawax provides. I have just found that I am reaching for a QD less and less since using ONR for dust removal.

FK is a QD and AW is a spray sealant. Different products. FK for light dusting and AW for a quick sealant after a wash. Although I do like AW, I perfer to use Ultima Car Wax every couple of weeks. So easy to easy to use, no streaks, great gloss and patented UV protection. Went through 2 bottles and just got a gallon from AG. Much cheaper by gallon.
 
I assume you can't overuse the spray wax type products and it looks like the gallon of QD would be overkill since I am using a spay wax after washing instead of the QD.

Do you QD inbetween washes? If not, you don't need the QD. Have you tried Ultima Car Wax? Best spray wax on the market (IMO).
 
i would suggest for drying use a q/d without carnuaba in it. for drying. thats what i use. then for a spray wax i grab pinnacle souveran spray wax. but theres so many that are good. try a few thats what i did..
 
The spray wax and ONR touch up washing has definitely reduced my QD use. I think i will go with a smaller bottle of FK 425 for the times I need a QD product.My Megs UQD has worked well but I have nothing to compare it to except the older Megs QD that came in the maroon bottle UQD was much better than than that IMO. Any issues with FK affecting your drying towels performance ? I do not want to get my new waffle weave towels loaded up with chemicals and reduce their performance.I have been blotting the paint dry to reduce the chance of marring the paint but I like the idea of QD while drying followed by Aquawax.

I hear A LOT of good things about FK 425, so i had to order a sample of it. I had no idea what it was at first. looking forward to using it.
