Hi everyone- this is all new to me, hope I'm doing this the right way. I've been reading so many great suggestions and a lot of good tips. I just got my GG6" from the UPS guy and getting ready to buy some more pads. Good to have a place like this forpeople like me who are just starting out! Any thoughts on what kind of pads I should be looking for? Thanks again and glad to be on here.Feed back please

Hi 314wolf,

Welcome to Autogeek Online! :welcome:

What are you working on?
What are you trying to accomplish?

:)

I got a 2010 Challanger-Inferno Red- some swirls and light scratching, water marks that I hope I can fix. I just got my Griot's Polish&Wax Kit- but I know I'm gonna want some different pads. Ialso have a Pearl White Ford Ranger(98) that is in need of a lot of work. I do have a car that I can use to practice on. It's just an old beater that no one will mind me experimenting on. Right now I'm getting ready to leave for a little vacation-4 days. But when I get back I want to get started. Can I use the 6.5" LC pads with my polisher? Or if that's not a good idea maybe give me some advice. Actually, this will be my first Vac. that I take my lap-top with me so I'll keep checking back here. Thanks!

Can I use the 6.5" LC pads on my GG- or do I have to get a different backing plate?

I was concerned about the 6.5" pads cause someone at Griot's said it was OK as long as I had a 5" backing plate. The one on the polisher measures almost 6".
