Getting ready for fall

I try to detail my car every 2 to 3 months, its a daily driven car, alot of hw and rural roads, so when its detailed it dose not stay clean for long. Since the fall is coming i want to get ready lots of rain and mud on my car. What is the best bang for the buck clay bar kit. I was thinking since i do all my detailing by hand(PC coming this xmas) I was going to do the fallowing.

1.Wash car with megs nxt car soap
2.Clay Bar
3.Use Megs UC
4.Apply Liquid Glass(heard alof of great reviews for a AIO product thats easy to apply and remove)
5.Apply Megs NXT 2.0 let it cure for 35 min then wipe off
6.Apply Megs #7 glaze to top it off, let it cure for bout and hour

No but that is a cheap and easy fix. Just pick up a cheap bottle of a quick detailer or mix some up from a rinseless wash such as DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss on sale for $13.99. You can then use it as a rinseless wash, a quick detailer and a clay lubricant.

I just noticed that you have UC on your list as one of the steps. While it can be done by hand I would recommend waiting until you get the DA. Polishing a whole car by hand is one BIG, LONG and TIRING job that most people will give up on very quickly.
 
I have Black magics QD that i dont use, can i use that as a lubricant? Do you guys think if i just clay bar it, and use aio liquid glass and then nxt 2.0 wax on top of it, would it cover up my swirl marks and light scratches? I have some water spots that i cant remove by hand, so its going to have to wait till i get a pc.

I also seen mothers clay bar kit and megs at the local store, both for $18 and both come with lubricants, is there difference in claybars or arethey all the same?
 
That QD should work just fine.

No, the wax will not hide the swirls and scratches.

The DP clay is 200g while the Megs is only 100g and the Mothers I think is 160g.

And OMG its 2:43am, I need to hit the sack
 
Is there any product that will fill in the swirls and find scratches in the clear coat that i can buy that last more then a day, untill i get a pc
 
Fall is a great time of year to start thinking about longer term protection than during the summer months.

I see you're using over the counter products available through most local stores. While all great product lets look at a different order of application. I didn't add any steps and only removed one as it was redundant, only one last step product is required.

1. Wash - Meguiar's NXT Car Wash great product!
18 oz. Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash

2. Clay Bar - Mothers Clay Bar Kit.
Mothers California Gold Clay Bar - Mothers California Gold Clay Bar Paint Saving System, detailing clay bar, 2 clay bars

3. Use Megs UC - This looks like Meguiar's M105 Ultra Cut.
Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #105 Ultra-Cut Compound, polishing compound, ultra cut compound, paint compound, car polish

Meguiar's M105 is a great compound for removing swirls and minor finish defects but using it by hand will take quite a bit of time if you're doing the entire car. I suggest you buy or borrow a DA polisher and pads for this product.

4. Meguiar's #7 Glaze - Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze is a final step auto glaze to enhanced the gloss prior to wax application. Get a show car shine with Meguiar's #7 Show Car
Meguiar’s #7 Show Car Glaze is a superb product as well. It will temporarily fill minor swirls resulting in a high gloss shine but is possesses no protective properties.

5. Meguiar's NXT 2.0 - Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax Paste is a synthetic polymer wax with excellent shine and durability.

Always read and follow the manufactures instructions

This is an example of why I dislike acronyms. They might be trendy, cool, and all that good stuff but if folks just spelled everything out, which isn't that difficult, allot of confusion would be avoided..

thanks guys, i did what bobby G said, in that order minus clay bar, i know i shouldn't skip this step but i was abit short on time, i pulled out my old cheap crap orbital buffer for polish dont know if its better then applying by hand or not but it was alot easier. So far the car paint feels smooth as glass and it looks great, but the real test will be tomorrow in the sun. I will post pics if i get a chance.
