Hey fellas, I've been creeping around the forum here for a few weeks and decided to come out of the shadows and get some opinions. Everyone seems friendly, so I figured I wouldn't get flamed for asking for feedback on my starter kit.

I've always enjoyed detailing cars and up to this point, I've done so with products found at local auto parts. These products will mostly be used for my vehicles as well as my families. I've debated on purchasing a DA, and may still do so, but for now I have an air powered rotary and access to a Makita 9227c for paint correction. I do body work/paint on the side, so I am somewhat experienced with a rotary.

On to the list. Feel free to recommend replacement products or additional products that I may need.

1.) $12.99 - Meguiars APC+
2.) $4.49 - Meguiars Microfiber Wash Mitt
3.) $5.99 - Meguiars Quik Detailer (interior)
4.) $5.99 - Mequiars Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner
5.) $5.99 - Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar Pad
6.) $12.99 - Poor Boys Quick Detailer
7.) $14.99 - Cobra All Purpose Microfiber towels - 3 pack (BOGO = 6 total)
8.) $12.99 - Cobra Super Plush Microfiber towels (BOGO = 2 total)
9.) $21.99 - Poor Boys Clay Bar

Thank you for your time!

3.) $5.99 - Meguiars Quik Detailer (interior)
4.) $5.99 - Mequiars Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner < Can be dangerous. Use with caution on cold wheels
5.) $5.99 - Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar Pad
6.) $12.99 - Griots Speed Shine
7.) $14.99 - Cobra All Purpose Microfiber towels - 3 pack (BOGO = 6 total)
8.) $12.99 - Cobra Super Plush Microfiber towels (BOGO = 2 total)
9.) $21.99 - Griots Yellow Clay

Theres my opinion FWIW

I too prefer a safer wheel cleaner, perhaps Griots (lots of value due to size), Sonax or P21S. Add a wheel sealant like Poorboys or DP and you can use car wash and water for several weeks.

The shipping doesn't cost any more for the Megs APC+. AG charges by by total cost of the order not weight. Skip the wheel cleaner and use the APC+ ;)

I was not aware of this ^ If in fact this is true then go for it :hungry:

Dubbin: Thanks for the suggestion on APC. I didn't realize it was safe on all wheels. I may have to get 2 gallons now. Lol

Killr: Is there a big difference between wheel sealants and paint sealants? I have some Meguiar's NXT and I've read here that people often use it as a wax/sealant on their paint. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm coming off the wrong way. I really am curious if the formulations are different enough to justify the cost.

Flash: Is Poor Boy's clay not very good? Again, I'm just curious. Trying to learn what I can!

Also...what do you all recommend for a good all in one wax? As stated, I have a little over half a bottle of liquid NXT to use. I've read people were using it as a wax and I've read people were using it as a sealer. I'm looking for a low budget solution for a good shine/protection. The main 2 vehicles I will be detailing are white. From my experience, and that I have read from Mike P., white just really isn't worth spending a bunch of time on.

NXT is a sealant not a "wax". If you want a nice carnauba wax at a good price then try one of the Poorboys Natty's paste wax. For $20 its really hard to beat.

EDIT: Don't forget to order this bottle for the APC+ 32 oz. Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner Plus Bottle I would recommend a couple of them so you can have different dilutions. They are pre marked for 10:1 and 4:1

Good deal! So a coat of NXT followed by a coat of PB Natty would be a pretty good protection system?
