Detailed: 2008 Infiniti G37S Coupe - Platinum Graphite

Fantastic job on the ride man!!! That car was in rough shape but it came out looking really nice. Sorry you didn't get the enthusiasm you had hoped for. I think you did a great job!

Fantastic job on the car. Looks Great.
I really think the owner doesn't know any better and just not as passionate like some of us are.
He'll be back and it's gonna look like how he brought it in the first time.

Nice work!!! :dblthumb2: That suscks the owner wasn't super excited.

Thank you, Tommy!

Great work! Love the G37S!

Thanks, OZD! Love the S/N.

nice :props:

Thanks, wisemonkey!

Wow great write up!! Did you hand buff in between the letters and the emblem on the trunk? or what method did you use there?

Thank you so much for the compliments! I just cleaned that area with a cotton swab. I didn't really go crazy on it. Thanks also for bumping up the thread. Im the MAN

Is the clear coat hard or soft ?
Thanks

The clear was on the softer side.

I really admire your work, Marc! :props:

Thanks for the kind words, Mark!! I really appreciate it coming from you.

Send the owner this link. most cant appreciate that level of detail without the assistance of 50/50 shots. :xyxthumbs:

All clients should be forced to join the forum and follow their cars detail. :-D

Thank you, Rhudeboye! I already did and he was happy with it. I guess I've been spoiled with the reactions I get from other owners.

Thats amazing!

I'm seeing people with GREAT results with the M205/M105 combo. I'd like to give it a shot, not sure if it is much different than the Menzerna IP I've got, though.

Thanks a lot, Stang Man! If you haven't gotten the Meguiar's twins, you're missing out!

Wow that came out so good. Nice job!

Thank you so much, Skate!!! I appreciate it.

Really nice job. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks, DetailElite!

Isn't it great when you get: "dialed-in"..

I agree with Perfections..1000%! (Did you come close to your hourly rate you want to meet or exceed?....15-16 hrs. X .00...Hope So!!!)

Marc..... Thanks for sharing your tools, products, processes...Goes a long way in understanding a little more about detailing, for all that are so interested.

Also:
I'm sure the owner was tinkled pink...He may not feel comfortable expressing his exuberance in an outward display of emotion, that's all.

I agree with Rhudeboye in the 50/50 shots.
For example:Fuel Filler-Door Area...Bet he didn't know about this!

A thought:
Why not send a copy of all the photos of this correction detail to the owner, along with your: Thank You! note

-Keep up the excellent work...Your good name and rep will surely be recognized throughout your community... :dblthumb2:

:)

Bob

PS.:
Put all your gratuities in the "cookie jar".

Thank you so much for the kind words and the compliments, Bob!!! I sincerely appreciate it and your encouragement. I didn't really get a gratuity from this job. To top it off, I only charged $200 for this job... That was really low IMO.

I'm happy to do write-ups of my details. I enjoy reading other people's write ups so why not do the same. In addition, it may help other people by showing them what products I use in each step.

Thank you so much for the compliments, Alex!! I appreciate it a lot! It already looked good because it was grey but nothing escapes the halogen lights LOL! It was just trashed!

Thanks a lot, MakemeShine! I appreciate the compliments.

Awesome job Marc! Has the owner been back in the 16 months since the detail?

That right there is the reason for the owner's under-expressed joy. He probably came to realize that he was more or less robbing you by not coughing up more coin. The owner's lack of enthusiam was an outward expression of the moral dilemma playing out in his mind.

Old thread or not, I appreciate you sharing your process. I have a black '09 G37S sedan and many of the same products you used on this job.

Thanks guys!

I just used metal polish and polished away.

So it looks like this is an old thread, but I don't think I have ever seen it.

Amazing work!! I mean truly awesome write up to follow along with. The 50/50 shots are stunning... showing off that level of correction on a silver car is not easy to do. The owner's jaw should have hit the floor when he saw this car, and you should have been paid 3-4X the amount you charged. Again - fantastic!

Great job on the G37 mate ! The Silver paint looks so great fella .

Awesome work Mark! I always loved those G coupes.

When are you going to do my Accord? :0

Thanks a lot for the compliments, Zach!!!

I was amazed at how the 50/50 shots came out. I didn't think I would be able to capture them because like you said, it's very hard especially on a light color like this. I wish I got paid a lot but this was for my boss and it was during a time I was starting... So it was heavily discounted... Unfortunately... :(

Maybe I should bump all my previous details!!! j/k LOL!

Thank you so much, sproketser!

Great work Marc! :)

Thanks so much for the compliments, Chad!!!!

Thanks a lot Gio!

LOL when it cools down. So freaking hot here.
