Pad life

I know I have been asking alot today.

But in all the searching I have done I have not seen this pop up and maybe it will help myself being I do not know much about pads, and maybe others.

My question is just that.

1. How do you know when your pad is done and needs to be tossed.

and or the pad won't clean up well anymore, the pad is soft in the middle (used it too hot too long), or this is an easy one the velcro separates from the pad.

thanks for the answers everyone, i will keep an eye out for these signs, and use the most common when in doubt replace. How many cars do you get out of your pads, lets say 50% light swirls, da polisher no compound, but orange pad used.

and pad cleaned lets say 4-5 times during detail, I know it may vary from everyones pressure and tech. usage.
