Hope you can recommend a product and applications pads for removing some very light swirls on black paint by hand. Just not ready to take on the rotary buffer yet. Thanks

While can can be done by hand you are way better off using a DA to do the job. Removing defects by hand takes a LOT of time and hard work. Don't be scared of the DA, it is next to impossible to screw anything up.

Thanks ...I'm heading in that direction....just don't want to screw up my new ride. Thanks again for the confirmation.

Doing by hand - while possible to remove swirls, a good workout for your upper body !!

All the subsequent aches & pains have finally made me order a Flex :buffing:

The rotary buffer is a awesome tool but it's easier to learn how to use and master a Porter Cable DA Polisher.

As for removing swirls by hand, sure it can be done but here's the honest truth, it requires more skill and patience to remove swirls to perfection by hand than it does to use a Porter Cable DA Polisher.

Another way of saying this is just about anyone can get show car results using a Porter Cable, you have to use exact technique to get show car results by hand...
