WOWA Sealant for Beginners

I am wondering how easy and forgiving the WOWA sealants are for beginners. My wife enjoys waxing her car and has really liked the look of my PB E-XP and also the reduced dust attraction compared to the carnuba wax she always uses.

Are UPGP and Opti-Seal very forgiving to apply? She has a tendency to apply the wax heavy thinking more is better and she thinks I am crazy believing a super thin coat will protect as well as her heavy application. She is doing better with using thinner coats of product but I do not want to set her up for failure.

EX-P was a bear for me to remove when I applied it a bit too heavy.

Both WOWA should be applied very thinly or you will have streaks. They can be wiped away easily. Wolfgang and Blackfire are easy to apply and remove.:buffing:

Use the UPGP with the premise that you can't use to little. One spray per pannel. less that 1/2 ounce to do the whole car. i have a mid size 4 door car.

Both WOWA should be applied very thinly or you will have streaks. They can be wiped away easily. Wolfgang and Blackfire are easy to apply and remove.:buffing:

Something like Blackfire Wet Diamond will be far more forgiving than the WOWA sealants, especially if she already has a tendency to go heavy.

Wet Diamond should be applied thin too, but the difference is that even if you do apply it thick/heavy, it really doesn't cause much of a problem as it still comes off quite easily.

If you do use one of the WOWA sealants, be sure to use a MF sponge applicator as they make it much easier to apply it thinly and evenly.

Since you already have Poorboy's World EX-P sealant why doesn't she use it? I just did my whole truck with it and it's a breeze to use.

I've used both and fnd UPGP the more forgving of the two. UPGP seems to dry a lot faster if over applied. I get the impression that streaking happens when the product sits on the finish wet too long. Use a microfiber or terrycloth applicator. A good way to tell if you are applyng product is to press the applicator against a wndow, the product will show. When you have applied to all painted surfaces apply to all glass. Enjoy how well your paint and glass repel water. :buffing:

I just came in from removing the second coat of EX-P from my car. 95% of it wipes off very easy but there are still many spots that require elbow grease to remove if it is applied the least bit heavy. For me it is harder to remove than any carnauba wax I have used, plus it gives me a chance to try a new sealant.

How does Black Fire Wet Diamond compare to the Wolfgang? I read very good reviews on both products. From what I have read the Wolfgang outlasts the BFWD in the durability column? Unless there is a significant difference in the products, I would prefer to buy from AG.

Can anyone comment on which product is easier to apply and remove?

They are both great sealants. Blackfire may have an edge on the removal and looks. BF seems to have more of a nuba look than a reflective (hard candy) shine. No experience in the durability department.

It's subjective to the user. Both are great sealants.:buffing:

I haven't used the Wolfgang Deep Gloss, but I would imagine that you will get varying opinions on this.

I'm a big fan of Opti-Seal. It looks great (very good depth for a sealant) and what can be more convenient than not having to remove it after application?

Just use it sparingly on a MF applicator and you will be fine.

True. I started a mobile detailing business this summer to pay for my own detailing addiction and now would like to offer this to my customers. Looking for speed of application & looks.

This forum has been a life saver though. Not too mention all of mike's videos. Any other advice on sealants is much appreciated.

Aren't the AIO products designed to be machine applied? We have not purchased a polisher yet so its hand apply/remove only for now, that's why I am very conscious of the ease of use.

Corey I do still have the reply.My concern is there is great deal of difference in our experience levels. I am concerned that my wife and I will end up with a mess due to our lack of experience and as I stated earlier my wife is from more thicker more better school of thought.

It really is that easy. Let me put it this way. After I bought my Sky and spent countless hours trying to figure out what I could best do to protect the paint I finally decided on Ultima. The very first time I tried it I had absoultely no confidence or experience properly sealing with it or any other sealant. I had absolutely 0 experience. I applied it super thin and never had a streak. When I came out the next morning it was sooooo beautiful. And the next day after the 2nd coat.... even more amazing.
