Blackfire Wet Diamond Pic's

I'm talking about the residue it leaves behind. Its a very fine, powdery mess... Maybe the OP didn't notice it since he wasn't applying it to a dark color.

Interesting, I don't recall having that issue, but I'll have to pay more attention next time I use it....which may be awhile, since I have two new sealants and two new waxes to try.

BFWD and Menzerna Powerlock are both great...easy on/off and a slick, wet finish.

I've used BFWD on dark colors and had no dusting , maybe alittle smearing where I applied it too thick. IMO, MPL works and looks the same. Both great.

Todd Helme recommends that should either apply BFWD one panel at a time and then buffing off or that one apply it to the entire vehicle and allow it to thoroughly dry (30-45 minutes) before buffing off. After beginning with the former, I have switched to the latter method and am getting even better results. I have not experienced any streaking or hazing. I imagine that the latter method might also improve durability (maybe).

If you're going to do this then why not use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0? I have a bottle of BFWD that's about 1 year old and used it on 1 car and now collects dust.

I'd have to say that Todd's recommendations match my experience 100%. When I had streaking, it was a situation where I applied to the entire vehicle, then I immediately started to remove it. It sounds like you have to do one or the other: remove immediately, or allow it to dry completely.

Why is that?

Here is a quick video I just made to show the dusting I get with BFWD. Its like a fine baby powder and can be a pain to clean it all off.

I just used BFWD on my truck last weekend and the only trouble i had was on half the hood and it was my fault I didn't let it dry properly. I used BFGEP first with my new PC 7424xp with a green LC and then moved on to the BFWD. I used the black pad for this and learned I could do half hood, front left fender and drivers door. Wait about 5 minutes and wipe it off. It came off very easy with no dusting. By the way you guys helped me a ton on selecting the PC 7424, even with only one good arm it's very manageable.:dblthumb2:

Glad to hear it worked out for you, the Flex would have just been too much to handle with one good arm.

Jon was kind enough to send me a sample of this and I tried it out. I saw a lot of the same things I've read here.

1.-It definitely looks great but is not the trouble free product that I have seen people claim.
2.-I agree with Dubbin1 that it does leave some dust (The dust seen in this picture is from the roof panel all dragged to one corner. The dust doesn't stick to the towel but a shot from the air compressor takes care of it.
3.-It also sweats in the mornings for a day or two
4.-Oh, one other thing. It may actually add a blue hue to the paint. I wouldn't know this first hand but a friend used it on white paint and mentioned to me that he could see a blue hue to it. It makes sense as it did look great on blue.

I forgot to share a picture of how little product it takes.

This is a sample that was sent to me in a 3oz bottle. I have applied it to a whole car, a trunk lid, hood and 2 fenders. You can see how little was used in these tests.

That's why I have only used it once. Now I have about 1/2 - 3/4 bottle sitting on my shelf that hasn't been touched in 7 months, along with their spray sealant.

I hate the dusting but I really do like the product. How do you like that spray sealant? I was looking at getting it at one time but forgot all about it.

I need to try it again but from what I remember it was sticky upon application but smooth when you buff it off. When I tried the Wolfgang Spritz Sealant it reacted the same way. I plan to try both again when I start my sealant test.

This sweating my also explain why it made my red paint on my HHR look a bit hazy. I never noticed that problem on silver or yellow.
