problem with collinite 845

i got my order today and the colinite 845 looks all congeeled and doesnt come out unless i squeeze the heck out of the bottle. help please
 
Shake it like you never shook anything before, about a minute into it it will magically turn to a real thin liquid, or run the bottle under hot water in the sink then shake it. That is just how it is and the next time you pick it up you will have to do it again. It is well worth the shaking though.
 
Hold on tight to the cap and give it a good shake. It thickens up in cool temperatures. You could also soak the bottle in hot water for a few minutes. 845 is a really watery wax too unlike other liquid waxes, just in case you were wondering.

That's pretty normal for this product. In the summer using it at 80 degrees or higher the stuff comes out fine but when you get near the 70 degree mark it thickens up. Put the bottle in some hot water and watch how fast it goes from a solid to a liquid.

One of the biggest complaint with this stuff is the bottle doesn't come with a conventional flip-top cap so it makes it that much more difficult to get out of the container. Fortunately, the threads are standard and 90% of the caps used by others will fit it nicely. If it came with one of these the complaints would drop by 60%.

Remember, apply this product THIN and allow to haze before buffing.
 
I thought it was pretty cool how 845 went from a butter thick to a milk thin consistency in less than a minute of shaking and it went on so smooth, I applied to 2 panels then wiped off the first and it came off so easy and clean. Thanks to everyones advice on other threads about 845! I never thought I would get the "thin is in" but I did a Honda Accord and only used about 1 oz. The car looked really nice, now we'll see how it holds up to the Michigan winter.
 
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is to take the cap off and push the plug of solid wax in the neck of the bottle down in there with some (clean) implement before shaking. Then shake the hell out of it until it thins out. I've never had to resort to the warm water, but I'm sure that helps a lot. I've also found that once you shake it up it stays shook, but I have a stash of the pre-VOC stuff so maybe the new stuff reverts easier.
 
The new stuff definitely reverts back to thick in just a few days but shakes back to thin very easily

Yes it does, but just shake, shake, shake, shake!! I too have never had to use the warm water.
I guess it was only a matter of tiem for one of these posts to pop up this season!
 
It was sunny the day I used mine and so I just set it in the sun for a few minutes and it went on smooth as butter!!

good Stuff!!
 
As the experts have suggested, shake, shake shake :props:

Leaving it in a mug of water makes it become liquid , which actually helps in applying a thinner layer !
 
845 says heavy duty paste on the front of the bottle too. They should make too versions, a winter version in a jar and a summer version in the bottle!
 
It truly is a paste. When applied to a pad it's similar in consistency to toothpaste. As soon as you start working it with a DA polisher it liquefies nicely and goes on very easy.

The main reason people complain is due to the cap. If a flip up cap is used the problems go away...period.

I grabbed a flip-up-cap off an old empty container that I'll put on the Collinite container and use it next time.
