Review: Ultima Waterless Wash Plus

Awesome review Corey. Thanks for this..You just made up my mind

Does the concentrate come with the empty 22 oz bottle?

My pleasure! Glad to hear it. You won't be dissapointed! I was very impatient and purchase mine before AG started selling it so I am not sure if AG offers the empty bottle. Right now its on VIP though. At that VIP price you can buy a bottle of concentrate and still have the 8$ to buy the bottle.

Cory,

Great writeup and thanks for posting the test and results!

I was thinking, something that gets me into trouble. How much different are these waterless washes from conventional detail sprays? I wonder what the real differences are?

Thank you Bobby! Give me a second and let grab a quote from someone who knows (Dr G.) on a similar subject. The short answer is more lubricants.

I have to start putting CEE DOG reviews on ignore.

Damn it, another product in the cart.

Another great review Corey.

Thank you Jon!! Tell your wallet I am sorry.

At least you can get it with the VIP special and save a few $$$

That is an excellent deal!

I'm assuming you mean as a rinseless wash? The UWWP can be made rinsless or waterless. As a waterless wash UWWP is cheaper the OOC. As a rinsless wash the ONR would be cheaper the UWWP. I'm happy with my ONR for rinsless but next time I do a rinslesss wash maybe I'll give it a try.

Or maybe ONR in QD strength.

Or maybe ONR in QD strength.

Below is a response from Dr. David Ghodoussi of Optimum specifically discussing OOC. I would assume the answer would somewhat apply to UWWP as well. Black print shows my question and blue print shows Dr. G's answers.

1. - For what reason would someone not just use ONR in the place of OOC for the purpose of cleaning paint. What I mean is: When a car is at the stage where OOC would be a good solution for cleaning, why not use ONR in a spray bottle and MF towels to achieve the same result?

No Rinse used as a quick detailer works fine for a car with light dust while Opti-Clean can be used on a car with several days of build up. The reason is that Opti-Clean contains the same polymers in No Rinse that encapsulate dirt but at a much higher concentration than No Rinse QD as well as other polymers not used in No rinse that offer more lubricity and gloss.

Oops, I read that wrong, I thought the VIP said 14.99$. It actually says save 14.99$.

Ok, I got some new information on Ultima Waterless Wash.

I spoke with Sam Lankford today and asked him a couple questions. We spoke over the phone so I didn't get his replies word for word but my notes and memory should get us there.

Q1: Can you use Ultima Waterless Wash on interiors?

A1: Yes, you can use use UWW on interiors. This product is PH neutral and won't do any harm. I actually dilute the product about another 25% for use on interiors but there is no need to do so if you don't want to.

Q2: Does Ultima Waterless Wash contain any UV protection?

A2: Yes, it does. UWW is by no means a sealant but it does contain about 12%-15% of the same UV protection solution that you find in UPGP. Some of the reasoning behind it not containing more than that is as follows: Maintaining a neutral PH in UWW was important in its deveolpment and using more then this amount of the UV protection solution could affect the ease of application/removal.

Thank you corey, you always seem to go above and beyond. :xyxthumbs:

I just tested out the WW on a panel stripped of wax and man this stuff left a super slick finish.

It also did an excellent job on cleaning up the wifes car.

Just got my bottle of concentrate tonight, mainly to replace ONR QD for light dust and dirt. I love it! Cleans much better than ONR Qd, wipes off much easier, and leaves the surface slicker, and its cheaper!! I thought ONR QD couldnt be beaten for the price, but now it has.Looking forward to using this product more! The smell is addictive.

Now you know what weve been trying to describe. QD is so close to dead to me. No comparison

Just got my UWWP this morning.
One question: Will it freeze?
Would like to keep it in the trunk for those emergency clean ups. But with our cold, sub freezing New England winters, would I be able to use it?

Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. Glad to hear you got yours in and are enjoying it! Very true about the smell :hungry:

Thats a good test to use it on a stripped panel like that. I appreciate the info and the feedback Dwayne. :props:

It will freeze but I am not sure at exactly what temperature. Being that it's so diluted I am thinking near 25-32 deg. F. I will make a call tommorrow and get you further information asap. Sam usually gets back to us pretty quick.

I'll ask him the point at which it freezes and the point at which it's no longer recommended for use.

Its sooo much easier to use than ONR and leaves the surface way slicker! The only reason that I originally bought ONR was to use it as a cheap QD, I've since learned to love it as a rinseless wash and normal wash additive too but my bottle of ONR just ran out and I've got two bottles of DP rinseless from a BOGO. The only difference I can tell between ONR and DP Rinseless is the smell. Looks like I won't be needing to buy any ONR for a long while, my bottles of Megs UQD are going to be sitting for awhile too..

BTW You are totally right about the bottle, I was excited to try it when I saw it too, but its rather poorly designed. The main cap without the spout leaked UWWP when I tried to turn it upside down to pour from the measuring section. Also it takes awhile to fill/unfill the measuring section, much easier to just use my measuring spoon.

Open the flip top and squeeze the bottle until the reservoir is to the desired level. This will be easy and precise IME!

Yes, the first time around it was a problem for me. I tightened the lid properly on the other side and now it works great.

Try it like Jim said (with the bottle right side up and flip top open squeeze the bottle). Once the chamber is filled to the appropriate level stop squeezing and your ready to pour.

Thats what I did, the lid still leaked when I turned it upside down, not immediately, but once it got to the last bit of product in the measuring chamber, air was allowed to get in through there and into the other chamber, and the pressure difference of air going in pushes product out of the ill-fitting lid.

The proper ratio for a gallon is 2.9oz to 1 gallon water. I just put 3oz into 1 gallon to make it easy. :xyxthumbs:

So I just did a little test to see how well it worked on a heavy soil so I sprayed in some wheel wells that were pretty messy. OWWP did an excellent job using just an old MF towel.

I truly am impressed with this product. The price, cleaning ability and uses just can't be beat.
