Does anyone have a good source for flyer templates that are specific to vehicle detailing (sorta like just filling in your business name, services, etc.)? They could be created on MS Publisher, Word, powerpoint, MS Digital Image Suite, Serif PagePlus, etc.

I haven't seen anything detailing specific but if there is such a selection of templates I would like to know where they are too. I have made some pretty nice fliers using the MS Word 2007 templates and inserting my pics and drawing my own text boxes. I am just learning how to do this so I will be interested to see what kind if any replies are contributed to this thread.

I've always used the templates in MS word and just edit them to for my company and services. It takes some time and patience (as sometimes the formatting isn't correct), but my flyer came out pretty good.

I am a graphic/web designer so if you want one done professionally feel free to contact me.

careful with templates, they are typically very dated designs and just do not have the impact you could get from something that is designed a little better.

Photoshop or Illustrator are your best bets. but they are expensive programs.

you need to consider the benefit of a trifold vs flyer vs a small leave behind.

I have found that a leave behind (post card size or smaller) is commonly most effective. you get right to the point and its small enough to fit in someones pockets. you dont want something people have to fold up or carry. Because there around a 90% they are going to forget it, or throw it away. So you want to design something that will fit in a pocket.

Also your color choices. Dont just put pictures of shiny cars on a page with some text. Spice it up a bit. forget the pictures of cars, go for a type face with some impact to it. Something that is a little bit different but clean and legible. stay away from goofy lettering and serif fonts.
a San-Serif type face will be more legible and modern looking. Not to mention have a bolder presence on the page.

Good use of color! Choose these wisely. certain colors have different mental effects on people. To many bright colors can be overly aggressive and dark colors can put them to sleep. You want the flyer/trifold/whatever to be bright and legible. so you will likely want to stick with either a white or light/pastel colored background. Although dark color backgrounds can work for people less experience with design it can be difficult.

Mainly, keep it simple. Look around at big company flyers and how they are designed. Image in this world is everything and if you have a design you use one place you better use it everywhere. so make sure its compatible on multiple platforms. otherwise people will have a hard to time recognizing you as a company.

if you have any questions just ask. Ill try to help you if i can.

Photoshop is expensive and if you don't have the knowledge of how to use it, it can be rather overwhelming. I actually downloaded the 30 day trail of the new Photoshop and did some testing in it and I love it! But am not willing to spend the money on it.

Maybe next year I'll get myself a decent program for this type of stuff. I'm actually fairly good at it (never done it other than messing around) and I enjoy doing it. Plus my mother is actually a photoshop pro, so if I needed help I could get her to help me.

you may want to look into photoshop elements. its a cheaper less feature packed version but it may suit your needs.

I do all my design in Illustrator and Photoshop. Illustrator allows me to create all my logos and everything in vector format so i can print them in any size.

Yeah I'll have to look into it. Right now I just have my basic logo that I created, which works for now. Thanks for the advice though!!

No, that's just my logo. I'm not even the one that as looking for the flyer templates. lol.

My flyer I used a pre-loaded word doc and edited it to my preference. I actually only handed a few of them out (left them at a couple local stores). But the detailing season is slowly coming to an end here in MA, so I'll probably spend my winter working on a new one.

I found a lot of them but you have to pay for them. I try to find free ones but zero yet. If I find some I let you know
