Suggest a wash mit specifically for ONR.

One thing I found funny about it.

There are no suds and it drains completely out of my Adam's washing pad.

It's bizzarre, it pours out faster than I could wring it (if I wanted to wring it) just from gravity.

Yet the pad holds other car wash stuff like it owes it money. Huh.

I know I'm in the minority, but I use a sheepskin mitt with ONR. On the lower panels, I use a chenille mitt. I just feel the sheepskin is the softest, and when using ONR I want to reduce the risk of marring as much as possible. I know what Dr G says, but I have a mental block about using an MF towel for this - just seems like I'm scraping dirt all around the paint. If I had a longer nap MF mitt, I might feel more comfortable with it.

Anyway, I have had very good success using the sheepskin mitt with ONR.

I tried the grout sponge from home depot tonight. Couldnt find the made in greece one, only made in taiwan. It did an OK job, but it didnt really hold the ONR solution very well.

Didnt seem to mar the finish any.

This was quoted from Dr.David Ghodoussi (Optimum):

"We are working with a foam manufacturer to develop a mitt that not only is safe and gentle for the automotive paint but also has good cleaning and dirt release properties. Once we complete all the testing and development, we will make this new foam mitt available to help make the wash process with Optimum No Rinse easier. "

Does anyone know when this ONR foam mitt will be released?

I'm still using the old Meguiar's Quik Detail Pads with ONR; I have several of them in reserves including a couple still brand new in the packaging. Basically just a sponge wrapped with microfiber.

A grouting sponge works great in pinchwith ONR. Cheap too for many - just test to make sure it wont marr on its own, some can be stiff

The Zymol sponge also works very well with ONR.

After a pre spray with a pressure sprayer. I get grout sponge and keep it fair wet. go over the panel, flip it over. Then into the bucket with the grit guard. Then I will wring out the sponge so its fairly dry to soak up more of the water. Then I move on to the next body panel. Lastly go over with WW, the MF towel. I found that with one rise, that dirty cars will leave dirt on my WW, so thats why I wash each body panel twice.

I try to use very little pressure(really just the weight of the ONR and sponge) and use long straight likes that would run parrel with the wind moving over the car when going forward. Again I find a grout sponge and cutting it into a lake country style sponge works well.

Funny you should mention that as I just started using mine for ONR washes. I have noticed some marring but at this point I can't be sure where it came from.
Mine work great and havent marred paint. I must say that my XLR has the hard as hell Corvette Clear and the Ford has Ceramic.

No, but as soon as it is released I will buy a couple! I wonder if it will also be the best for Opti Clean. Corey can you chime in?

you are such a tease! can you share any thoughts?

It's something you are already familiar with but built to Dr. G's specs. I don't know who else is testing them, but I'm very pleased with the second one and have already given him my opinion. After any product is ready for prime time, it still takes about 3 months to get stock, labels, and packaging. Im the MAN

Thanks! If I had to guess, I would go with the LC Ulti Mitt. Am I getting warm?

Any clue about the price of this mitt ?

I hope optimum wont make the mistake of making a foam mitt that costs like sheepskin... Very few will pay for a foam at the price of a natural sheepskin
