I had a very tight schedule yesterday, and only had 4 hours to get my wife's Prius polished and sealed in preparation for winter. I don't have a lot of pictures because I was hammering full speed to get it done, but I do have a few pictures of the shiny things we all like to see.
Process -
Wash:
2 bucket method with dawn,
Pinnacle bug scrubber
APC+
Clay:
Mothers clay bar & lube
Polish:
Menzerna Power Finish
Hydro-tech Cyan 5.5 pad
PC original @ speed 6
Protect:
Wolf Gang DGPS
Dodo Banana Armour (special thanks to jpegs13 for sending me this to try out).
Car is washed and ready to start claying. The paint was not too contaminated, and I ended up focusing 90% of the claying effort on the bottom 25% of the car.
Pretty much the whole car had this level of scratching to take care of. I went with a brand new combination for me, and I liked the results so much it will be one of my go-to choices in the future. Specifically this was the first time I used the new hydro-tech pads (cyan) and Menzerna Power finish. The results were ... wait for it ...
legendary!
I also got a chance to try Dodo Banana Armour thanks to jpegs13. I really like how it smells, before I got a change to use it I would walk by and take a whiff every now and then. It was a bit more difficult to use/remove than Souveran, but it left a very nice finish and I am eager to see how it holds up in our winter months.
I really really would encourage others to try power finish with the hydro-tech cyan pad, the results were fantastic.
