My UPS brought my Four Star UTPS (with PolyCharger) this afternoon.
Four Star Ultimate Tire Protectant Spray
I have been looking for a durable tire protectant that was NOT a gel.Don't get me wrong, gel's work fine. There are alot of good one's out there but my tires have a lot of axial (ID of the tire out to the OD)grooves in them.
When I use a gel,it's a bear trying to get the product out of the grooves. When I don't,I get the dreaded sling.
So this brought me to start trying some sprayable tire dressing's.I was going to go with the Ultima but that was a gel as well. The Four Star said it had "PolyCharger" booster.I was hoping that with the booster,I could get extended protectant (dressing) life.
Starting with clean and dry tires:
I taped up my wheel guard to keep any overspray off the rim's:
I sprayed one half of the tire,I noticed that the FourStar UTPS almost had the consistency of a undercarriage spray (solvent like):
As I let the product sit for a couple minute's (per directions) it was as if the product was almost absorbing into the rubber.:dunno:
A different angle, because it was dark already and I had to use my detailing lights to illuminate for the camera:
With the tape and wheel cover off the tire:
And the finished tire after taking a grey foam applicator and messaging the product even:
I would have to say, applying the product was a whole lot easier that using gels (On My Tire's).It left a nice shine and not glossy at all. This so far has been the most rewarding tire dressing I have used yet.I don't know how long the dressing will adhere to the tires thou we do have rain in the forecast for the weekend. This is one of my DD's and it will be out there in the rain for the next few day's.
I will keep this thread updated and will post new pictures (at night with the same lighting) so others can determine if this is the product for them.More importantly,MYSELF:dblthumb2:
BTW, here is a picture of the color of the product.I also found that using the smaller sample bottle's,applying the product was so much easier with a finer spray.
I used approximently 1oz (Bottle is 18oz) to do all (4) tires.
Thanks for Looking.
