Kevin, Nice info. Thanks for sharing it.
I assume that the unit without the locking pin still has the same stroke but just doesn't lock into forced rotation mode.
Would that be a correct assumption?
Wow, Kevin.... great information! You've talked me into the 61384 as well. Ought to be interesting to see how this compares to my other DA polishers. Especially will be interesting to compare it against the Flex 3401. It almost sounds like this is going to blow the Flex DA out of the water.
Any of the others of you who have ordered this getting a Flex PE14-2 150 as well? That ought to be an interesting setup as the weight probably will end up right around the same as a Makita 9227C by itself and have similar power.
I've got the Flex 3403, so I plan to test it and find out if the motor has enough power to keep up with the Dynabrade or not.
Hi Shiny,
I don't advise using the dynabrade attachment with the Flex 3403. It's not really made to handle that amount of weight. Get a cheap "full size" buffer that can go at least 3000 rpm for the dynabrade attachment and use the 3403 as a rotary only, and you'll be happy.

Any DA backing plate with 5/16 fine thread stud will work. the supplied 8" backing plate is a bolt through style. In fact last week took the pad off the air DA and used it on the Dyna worked great.
Something you should Know it works as full DA with button off and in the on position it's like a Flex forced rotation not a true rotary. so if you want to rotary buff something you will need to remove it.
59.00 is a very good price I think I paid 79-89 for the 3 I bought maybe 3 years ago
I found them here . LINK REMOVED USE GOOGLE OR BING SEARCH
Sorry for the link, I just made a strong mental note...NO MORE LINKS...:nomore:
I just received my Dynabrade unit this morning but won't test it out for a few days. It seems like a very quality made device but they placed the wrong sized wrenches in the package so I just got done grinding mine to fit.
Rooddyy this thread is only about a week old??
A place called abrasivedge, get the 61384, its 53 dollars
Thanks for the info Adam. As far as the age of the post, well, I wasn't wearing my reading glasses and the dates were kind of small, I thought they were from Oct.

I had to grind 1/4" out of the opening of the larger supplied flat wrench to get it to fit the spindle nut behind the backing plate on mine to get the backing plate off. Mine has an Allen bolt holding the backing plate on. Does yours have an Allen bolt in the center of the backing plate? Maybe yours has a flat wrench that is also the wrong size..?Just got mine in a couple hours ago as well. Can't seem to get the 8" backing plate off it though for some reason.
I'm at least assuming it's supposed to be removable.... but maybe not? I got the dual-mode locking one.
