What is your favorite car wash?

My favorite is Optimum (great smell) but I have not seen any "bad" soaps. Optimum does not leave much of an added shine.

I have used DG, Mothers, WG, Pinnacle, 1z Perls (really more ONR like), and PB. I still use Mothers, WG (close second to Optimum with bubble gum scent), and Pinnacle. For some reason I like WG over Optimum.

I've tried many, and I always end up going back to Meguiars Gold Class.

Pinnacle XMT Gel Shampoo, followed by Megs Gold Class. Megs Gold Class offers about 9/10th of the slickness that the Pinnacle does, but it's not nearly as concentrated.

Duragloss for a sealant protected car, P21s for a carnauba protected car.

I am using DuraGloss right now. Thinking about ordering DP when the DuraGloss runs low

Gee... I wonder how I knew you'd say that

I'm liking the new avatar, Sky is looking awsome :dblthumb2:

, I'm full of surprises! Well, maybe not.

Thank you

Its also wayyy cheaper though, gallons can be found for 10 dollars or less. Gold class is so good for the money. :xyxthumbs:

My favorites are:

WG Auto Bathe
Pinnacle Shampoo
Duragloss
Meggs Gold Class

WG Auto Bathe is my very favorite smelling product of all times:drool:

:autowash:

With all these favorites threads going on, figured I'd start one. So, what is your favorite car wash, and why? Mine is Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo, because it has good lubricity, rinses well, helps prevent water spots, has suds that last, and smells like pina colada/coconut. I just got Ultima Paint Guard wash and am looking forward to trying it out.
Shane, what dilution ratio do u use pinnacle? I used 1 ounce per 3 gallons of water last week and I didn't feel the lubricity was all that great.

Not to butt in here, but I found the same thing....I ended up using one oz to a gallon and then it had the lubricity that I liked!

I've really been enjoying Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo lately also, very good shampoo gentle on lsp and tough on grime. I ordered some when pinnacle was having it's big sale a few weeks ago but when not on sale it is a bit pricey.

I use it at about 1.5oz in a 3 gal bucket. The label says 2oz for 5 gal.

The shampoos I really enjoy in no particular order are:

Pinnacle - Bodywork Shampoo
Duragloss - Car Wash Concentrate #901 / #902
Optimum - Car Shampoo
Majestic Solutions - Ultra Gloss

I kinda rotate between them, whatever I'm in the mood for.

Here is a list of what else I've used for comparison sake:

Chemical Guys - Citrus Wash
Chemical Guys - Citrus Wash & Gloss
Chemical Guys - Citrus Wash Clear
Chemical Guys - Glossworkz
Meguiar's- Gold Class
1Z Einszett - Perls
Autoglym - Bodywork Shampoo
Detailers Pride - Xtreme Foam
Prima - Mystique
Meguiar's- Hyperwash
P21S - Bodywork Shampoo

I would love to try:

Wolfgang - Auto Bathe
Adam's - Car Shampoo
Lusso - Auto Bathe
Victoria Wax - Super Soap
Bilt-Hamber - Auto-wash
Race Glaze - Aqua Bathe

I am usually a over the counter guy for the car wash and believe it or not I like the Turtle Wax Ice car wash. I am going to give the Megs stuff a try next time I need some but now that winter is here I go through a touchless car wash and then go home and ONR for cleaning.

FWIW, I too like the Turtle Wax Ice car wash.

I find it difficult to compare car wash products. I have tried Turtle Wax Ice, Gold Class, Durgaloss 901, and Megs' Ultimate Wash & Wax. The only one I wouldn't buy again is the W&W. This winter I'll be using ONR but in the spring I'll be trying out the Griot's car wash, about which I've heard good reports.

I don't know, I still shamelessly use the glug glug method. :D

I'd say about 2 ounces to 3 gallons of water. I should measure it out, but my lazy side always gets the better of me.

Mark, Pinn works best with 2-3oz per 4 gal w/ 1/2 oz of ONR...

That would depend on what I was trying to achieve. If i am washing before polishing I like to use Megs Hyper wash because it seems to strip the LSP and contains no wax in and of itself.

I received a free pint of PB SS&W that I think is real nice but would never pay the overinflated price for it.

I find Megs Deep crystal to be sufficient to be honest and at $7 a gallon don't think it can be beat.

I do however want to try Duragloss' #901.
