TV experts, I need you!!!!

You don't want the Samsung... 720p. At least step up to a 1080p set -- might cost slightly more but I can pretty much guarantee you'll regret the purchase in the not too distant future. Keeping up with at least the entry level of the most current technology is the best way to buy, rather than going with any form of already obsoleted technology.

Yeah def get at least 1080p if your going larger then 32inch. Don't want something that is 720p.. it been out for so long. You want try to stay as close to the current technology with what you can afford. Even 1080p is old, I remember in 2006 when I waited 4 days with friends to buy the ps3. And got to test out Blu-ray which was WOW! If your not into 3d then all you need is a nice set with 1080p. Also look for high contrast ratio, I don't really know much about plasma but darker the blacks the better.

Don't rule out Visio. They have come a long ways in just a few years and actually launched their Led models concurrently with Samsung. They are a lot of bang for the buck, equipped with all the inputs 3 or 4X HDMI nd their speakers are no worse than the other makes.

For the most part the sound will be better with the plasma or LCD sets. Led sets are just too thin to pack any decent sound into.
