just bought a 2009 corvette and want to learn to make it look its best

Welcome to AGO. Your going need a couple things. First I would suggest getting an DA polisher. Best money spent for achieving show quality finish.

Get 5 inch back plates, couple orange flats 5.5 inch pads and white 5.5 inch pads. I would suggest getting Meguair's 105/205.

Get a couple wash bucket with 2 grit guards.
Need clay bar.
Good quality soap
Wheel brush
APC
Sealant
Wax
Couple application pads
Window cleaners
Tire shine

This should be enough to start making your car looking good again.
Good Luck!

Welcome to Autogeek. I'm in Columbus. What color is your vette and what part of Ohio are you in?

Welcome. I'm a noob, too. I live north of Cincinnati in Southwestern, Ohio. What part of the State do you live?

Hi Tim,
I'm Michelle and am relatively new to learning detailing and AG. I'm not too far from you. I'm located between Cincinnati and Dayton, right in between I75 and I71.
Not looking forward to what's been forecasted regarding the weather but it is nearly winter in Ohio, right? lol

Ola Chasm47 Congrats on the vette! You landed on the right forum if you want to beautify you 09 vette!:dblthumb2:

Welcome to the world of Autogeek.

Greetings from Kettering.

Hi chasm47...Fellow Ohioan saying you have come to the right forum for expert advise in the detailing arena. Cold enough for you yet? Keep the 'baby' warm!

I love this weather. I'll love it for a couple more days and then be sick of it for the next 3 months. I was talking to a detailing friend of mine here in Columbus and we both noticed a lot of people in Ohio really love the C6 Corvette. They are really nice cars.

Welcome from Cleveland!
The best way to keep your Vette looking new this time of year in Ohio would be to keep it in the garage!

I live in the youngstown suburb of Austintown--love this Forum--lots of info and friendly people--vette is crystal red metallic--in storage for a while--looking to learn all I can and start buying what I need for major detailing when weather permits

That's a good order to follow... get head knowledge first, then put what you learn into practice...

Maybe consider attending one or both of our classes coming up...

Detailing Classes in January

You must have previously taken Detailing 101 in order to sign-up for Detailing 102, if you haven't then sign up for both if you want to attend the Detailing 102 Wetsanding and Rotary Buffer Class.

Detailing 101 - Machine Polishing - Saturday January 29th

Detailing 102 - Wetsanding, Cutting and Buffing for a Show Car Finish - Sunday January 30th

Do you want to attend a Detailing Class?

Do you want to learn the art of polishing paint to remove swirls, scratches, water spots and even orange peel?

Then send me an e-mail...

If you want to be notified when the next Detailing 101 and 102 classes are scheduled, then please send me an e-mail, (not a Private Message), with the subject

Class Request
