Sand/Salt Trucks

I smell rice burning.

Have a great Christmas and New Year everyone, yes even you ziv.

Rice? Seriously?? I am a farm fed white boy that likes imports.... my evo makes big power on ethanol... how much more American can you get than government subsidized race fuel made from Corn.

People try and make fun of my little boy racer car. My only response is, "have you ever been in a fast car" the usual response is "well, I've been in a mustang/camaro/vette" I just laugh and walk away. Ignorance is bliss my friend.

if a 2litre can make this kind of power I don't care if it is rice, potatoes, or a fat lady's farts that fuels my cars.

And to the OP. please post up the damage you find on your vehicle. I do empathize with you, but if things like this get you worked up, it's going to be a long life my friend

yeh, my POS 500 whp mitsu... who would want to drive that?... or maybe my POS 550+ hp 350Z, or my 08 tundra pickup, or my honda minivan.

A 500 hp mitsu and a 550+ hp z? Putting more money into the car then what it's worth makes no sense to me.... I would much rather buy an m5, just sayin'. Besides, you probably don't OWN any of those, isn't credit a wonderful thing? :props: ()
350z's are garbage anyway...

only payment I have is on my van, but thanks for playin'. The evo makes good power on a turbo upgrade, exhaust and tune so only a few grand . My Z, well, you ain't too far off, but as a Z owner, you know they are lethargic in stock form... something had to be done. I have a soft spot for the Z cars, but fast, quick, powerful, they are not. Come up to MN sometime and get in contact with me, one pull in 3rd through 4th will leave you speachless

Sorry, I'm not an imports fan. I'm an American car guy through and through. So, excuse me for not getting excited over for your imports. And if I recall correctly, Mitsubishi built the kamikaze planes that flew into our ships at Pearl Habor...def a company I'd like to invest in....

I don't need to drive your Z, thanks for the offer though! Mine is far from stock, besides the exterior...the intercooler and BOV sometimes give it away though.

Well I've wasted enough time on here for tonight! I'm heading out to have a couple Mai Tai's to celebrate my mothers bday.

american?? I would NEVER buy a chevy..... toooo american for me. government owned/saved at the expense of the tax payer. should have let them fail. besides, they do plenty of manufacturing outside the US

Talk about other manufacturers... my previous ford truck -> made in mexico. my new toyota truck -> made in America.

Good for you that you 'think' you are buying american. and that you aren't into imports . Does it help you sleep better at night? like I said before, ignorance is bliss.

who said anything about letting you drive?

So what are you running?

mine:
9:1 motor, APS TT conversion, a mild set of cams, tuned on the Fcon Vpro

Running about 15-16 psi.

That was my point...

And ethanol has to be the biggest joke ever... There is no way I will ever let my v8 Jeep commander drink that crap...

ethanol is a joke in regards to standard use on FFV and having the gov't subsidizing it. but if you run a forced induction setup it is a dream come true. 105 octane, burns cooler. sure you need more fuel, but you can run more boost, higher AFRs, and more timing. My evo makes 100 more whp on ethanol than standard gas. There is no disputing those kind of results

once they start making ethanol from algae in the middle of the desert, it will be a good thing. subsidizing it and making it from corn is not

Ziv thanks for asking yes I have been in a fast car. Try a build 340 Duster that I was lucky enough to drive and you would not win the $20 bill game either. This thing would scream. I don't think people, including myself, would have gotten so worked up if you could have had some empathy about what happened to SeaJays truck. Plus you made it worse by insulting his ride so I guess you reaped the whirlwind. I for one would welcome you on any thread as long as you can keep it civil. By the way the year of his Chevy truck is not a government motors issue and Ford trucks aren't built in Mexico. The parts mainly come from Canada (Windsor) and American plus it's assembled by Americans. If you like imprts that's fine but you first have to get that 500 hp to the ground and make it work. I have a feeling a new Mustang would give you a run for the money. But anyway I still say have a Merry Christmas.

Ok, most of us can agree that we spend lots of time getting our cars getting as perfect as possible, and just as with anything, when we have worked hard on something, it sucks when someone else messes it up...

And on that note I think is time to :lock::lock::lock::lock::lock::lock::lock::lock::lock::lock::lock:

american?? I would NEVER buy a chevy..... toooo american for me. government owned/saved at the expense of the tax payer.

Yet you will use a government subsidized fuel?

Not gonna rip your car, because I like imports as well. I just prefer my Cobra.

Anyway, that is besides the entire point of this thread. Who gives a flip about who drives what. I don't give a damn if the OP drove a freggin Vega. The fact is that it is HIS and someone, I doubt deliberatly, threw rock salt all over the side. This would piss me off as well. I am sure if I was in a shopping center and I just let my shopping cart go in to the side of your super duper Mitsu, you would be pissed. This is the same type of situation.

This is a forum where people who love cars and having them look perfect gather to BS about cars, detailing, and other random crap. Coming on here and venting is one of the things it is here for.

Anyway, no back to your regularly scheduled programming, already in progress.

The guy backed right up to my truck, there was no need to do that considering those sanders throw sand about 6-10 feet. I realize he was doing his job, but maybe he should respect other peoples property?

I doubt he really thought he was disrespecting your property, most people don't have the same kind of regard for vehicles that we do. Plus, if it was anything like the normal landscaping/plow guy he 1) Had probably been up all night plowing and salting and hardly knew where he was and 2)may have been one step above a day laborer and doesn't even have a vehicle of his own so hey "I treat the vehicles in the lot just like my own work truck".

That being said, I CRINGE when I have to drive by a salt truck going the other way on a narrow road and hear my car being pelted by the salt...I've never noted any damage though, I hope you will make out as well.

Umm just a thought Ford and Chevy are both American lol Toyota is Japanese all tho I prefer Chevy better than the crap of Ford

oh the old 20 buck on the dash game. I'll play that game with a hundred bucks in either of my cars :xyxthumbs: I find the people that talk about the $20 dash game really haven't been in fast cars.... just my experience

with AWD, my car has no problem putting the power to the ground, even in the winter... and no a new mustang will not give me a run for my money, not unless it's running an extra 150-200hp. just some quick looking on the net, a new mustang puts down about 375 whp... again, my evo tops 500 Whp and my Z will do 550 Whp.... if you want to compare BHP, my evo is in the 600 bhp range and my Z is about 620-630 bhp... and these numbers are from a 2.0 inline 4 and a 3.5 V6 respectively.

I don't want to sound like I am ripping the new mustang, I think it is a great vehicle. A true step in the right direction for the car. I would consider one had they offered their new ecoboost V6 in it.... but why would they offer a V6 that puts the iconic 5.0 to shame? there would be chaos and panic in the streets

Yet you will use a government subsidized fuel?

yes, because I would use it whether or not it would be subsidized. I would support it with my dollars... it never really had a chance on its own, so who knows if it would exist or not. GM had its chance, and would have failed on its own; which it should have been allowed to do. Either way, I don't think they make good vehicles, so I choose not to guy them

sure I would be upset if I saw someone being careless with a cart. That isn't exactly a direct comparison.. Regardless I still empathize with the OP, but I don't find it worthy of a rant on the internet

Sure, ford and chevy are both American, but not all their vehicles are assembled here. Who is doing more for Americans... .buying an american company's product that is assembled outside America or buying a Japanese company's product that is actually built in America????

If you think Chevy is better than ford, you probably think natty ice is a premium beer. Personally I think Toyota, Ford and Dodge put out a better truck than Chevy does. I am looking forward to the new boosted V6 that ford has coming in their lineup
