Must of us have created an addiction to detailing products/tools one way or another. So lets classify ourselves, and the "method" of collecting these products/tools.

Definition of COLLECT

transitive verb
1
a : to bring together into one body or place b : to gather or exact from a number of persons or sources <collect taxes> c : to gather an accumulation of (objects) especially as a hobby

Definition of HOBBY

: a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation

Definition of COMPULSION

1
a : an act of compelling : the state of being compelled b : a force that compels

2
: an irresistible persistent impulse to perform an act (as excessive hand washing); also : the act itself

Definition of HOARD

: a supply or fund stored up and often hidden away beyond normal collecting

So where do you find yourself or a combination of definitions? What would your significant other classify you as???

Myself - I think COMPULSION. There's a force here that compels me to save money by taking advantage of every great offer put forth by the goddess Meghan.

I'm definitely not a hoarder. I've seen them on TV and they surround themselves with crap, the stuff I buy is definitely not crap! I but nothing but the finest from Autogeek! :props:

I've been married for 32 years and my wife has yet to come up with an accurate description that defines me....

I would say a combination of hobby and compulsion.

I would have to say, "Serious Hobbyist".

I would say a cross between hobby and collector. But the manner in which AG conducts itself forced me to become a hoarder. It's a very uneasy feeling when without consent, your hand reaches for your wallet, pulls out the plastic and checks-out right before your very eyes! I just sit there in disbelief asking myself, what I will do first when these new products arrive...

Compulsion for my car to be as clean and perfect as possible. Hobby to do it as well and as efficiently as possible.

After all the years of doing everything by hand in my youth, all the great products and equipment now make detailing a cakewalk.

COMPULSION - That would be me. And that is how my significant other would describe me when it comes to my detailing.

I'd also say Hobbyist, since it's not my full time job and it does relax me, weather I'm working on a customer's car or my own.

Put me down as a hobbiest. We starting BMWs 11 years ago and I feel that they should look clean and well cared for for the money we spent. They don't need to be perfect like a show car when we drove them daily, but there is something about pride of ownership.

I would consider myself as a collector. I collect enough products and find myself buying new and different things from time to time but I don't find detailing to be relaxing outside my occupation. Detailing is still hard work and I get physically tired from doing it. However, the satisfaction you get from seeing a clean, shiny and show worthy car is priceless.

My name is Jimmy and compulsive hoarding is my hobby!:xyxthumbs:
