I was contacted for this car to fix some "hazing" on the rear quarter after film had been removed from the car. Evidence of some less than par rotary work was quickly identified. Section was corrected and the rest of the car was evalutated at which point customer requested a 1 step correction and sealant.

LSP was Gloss-It Signature Gloss. I was very impressed with this LSP. It has a bit of a learning curve because you use such a tiny amount and it spreads VERY far. I used less than 1/3 oz for the whole car. While it sat curing for a little over an hour I noticed the gloss was amplified before I even removed the product. It wiped off easily and gave a very soft feel to the paint. I did an ice-water spray wipedown after removal and I've gotta say the beading was crazy. BFWD and Zaino bead great and I love them both, but with the super fine mist that my spray bottle had, even the farthest edges of the mist was beading...it looked like frost! Never seen that with Zaino or BFWD. Cool effect. It also really amped up the metal flake in the paint and brightened it noticeably. Gave more warmth and even a lighter color to this dark metallic paint. Definitely a different look than my go-to sealants. I really liked how it looked on this car.

Onto the pics...

Just a little dirty upon arrival. ONR wash took care of that.

You can start to see the holograms and swirls here.

After looking over the car it was decided that I would do a 1 step correction over the whole car in addition to fixing the heavy marring and holograms on the rear quarter. Here you can see some additional scratches. (sorry the white balance on the camera was set wrong).

At this point while the Signature Gloss was curing, client's wife cooked a lovely dinner for me. I had worked up an appetite and it was absolutely delicious!

Since I finished late at night, I came back a couple days later for a few pics in the sun, this car deserved nothing less.

Thanks for lookin!

Damn, outstanding job. A free meal? How awesome is that!

I'm not typically a Maserati fan but damn that car looks good. Real good.

Very nice work! I like the flake in that paint too.

D#@%!! When the reflection alone starts to give me a headache, that's when you knw your a bad a**!!
Fabulos job, out of curiosity what waxes and sealants if any, did you use?

To be able to work on a car of this caliber is a rarity but to bring its finish back to life must have been satisfying. Once the correction was complete and waxed the flake must have been dazzling to the eye.

One thing I noticed is that you didn't do much taping off during the paint correction stage, is this standard for you?

Those photos really show how badly the finish had been neglected and you did a great job returning it to it's rightful place among super cars...:props:

Nice work and awesome results!

It always amazes people, especially detailers, either Pro or Enthusiasts, that Exotics and Super cars get so swirled and hacked-up.

My guess, from experience, is that the people that own these types of cars don't know how to "touch" them and when they do hire a detailer that also doesn't know how to "touch" it.

Whether a car has swirls and scratches or not always comes down to how it's touched.

Did you set this guy up on a Maintenance Program where you come my and spruce it up on a regular schedule?

Or share some tips and techniques on how to "touch" the paint?

:)

I wasn't a Maserati fan until this car came out, its just a stunning vehicle! Thanks! Yeah free (and good!) dinner is always an awesome bonus!

The sealant I used was Gloss-It Signature Gloss. They'll be making limited quantities available soon.

Yeah I really had fun working on this one. Most of the car was done with the PC and there was little trim that needed taping off so just a little taping was needed. When I'm doing all out rotary work I tape off just about everything. Thanks for the kind words! :)

Great work!

Thank you!

That looks brand new. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!

Looks amazing!

That is a very sexy car!

Styling by Pininfarina, doesn't get much better than that! Thanks!

one word... Sweeeeeeeet!!! :xyxthumbs:

Thanks Tom!

Thanks Mike. Yeah I stay in regular contact with the owner about the car so that it can be maintained well.

Thanks Nick. I couldn't have put it better. Definitely a car I'd own if I hit the lotto!

Amazing work. This car is one of my all time favorites. It isn't the fastest, but the sex appeal, emotions you get when you look at it, etc. is just undeniable.

I recognize that Maserati from the L4P forums! Sweet ride and great turn around!

Later,
Lee

I really don't even know what to say. That car is just beyond beautiful. You did it justice. Wonderful job.
