remarks from neighbors 2

You are completely right. What was I thinking? Hug first then smash! I always get those two confused dammit.

I am kidding by the way and I do have two beautiful little children who I hope would never spray someone's car after they got done washing it and respect other people's property. But I also teach them to stick up for themselves and others so one day they can smash good too.

the big lesson her is RESPECT others and their stuff. Just not everyone does .. you got it right Hug then smash no wait .... smash then hug ... Oh ya that is it.

It's interesting how different people treat their cars differently, I think I narrowed it down to 4 groups:

Group # 1: People with nice cars that care about the car.

Group # 2: People with "average" cars that care about the car.

Group # 3: People with nice cars that do not care about the car at all.

Group # 4: People with "average" or really junked out cars that do not care about the car at all.

The group that amazes me most is # 3. I see some really nice cars, and you can see swirls, bird poop stains, rims that look like a sword went through them, the list goes on and on.

I guess some people just don't care, maybe the car was easy to attain for them and it's "just a car".

My .002 cents.

Groups #3 and #4 both lack pride of ownership. When I financed my first car, a 2007 Mazda3, I took care of it as best as I could (before I got into detailing) and people would think I was crazy because it was "just a Mazda". That Mazda3 was my Ferrari, more or less. And now my Scion tC is my Ferrari, lol. I'm spending my hard-earned dollars on my car and I'll do my best to keep it looking its best.

It really bothers me when people have nice vehicles and don't take care of them. I watched a neighbor wash his Tacoma X-Runner with a shop rag and half gallon bucket full of BLACK water, just scrubbing away. He even told me he doesn't bother with wax because if the paint gets bad, he'll just repaint the truck. Sure, that's the cheaper and more cost effective option.

The only comments I get are of the "when you're done you can do mine" variety...for free of course...

...NOT

My neighbors haven't ever said anything but they are always inside. They probably think I'm crazy when I fire up the leaf blower to dry my car though.

I do the same thing.

I remember the first time I used my foam gun, a car was passing by and almost came to a complete stop to see what I was doing, lol. I then felt as if I was being watched, lol. I also get the occasional, "Man, you clean that car too much." I don't really see it as a chore, though. I like my car more when it's really clean inside and out, it actually makes me feel better about my car and it's more "comfortable" to be in when it's clean.

I think this has to be the single most heard comment!

I answer them that it will be very expensive & it ends right there ! lol

I'm going to start spraying people with the hose when they ask me "is mine next." That's pretty much all I ever hear with perhaps the occasional, "it wasn't even dirty before".

I just got a visual!

I am detailing my car right now. (I am on a break) and five people have said things about my car. I might have pictures of my car tonight. I am doing it by hand even though I have a PC

Today, a guy working for the local utility company, was walking up and down the street and asked "Giving it the PDQ treatment?". I wanted to give him a real long stare and say "I better not be" lol.

But, he said it looked real good after seeing when it when I started and then walking by it later after looking for a transformer box for an hour.
