After spraying the product on the car do you rub it in with an applicator (like you would for opti-seal) or just wipe with a microfiber like you would for any quick detailer. The instructions on autogeek say to just wipe with a plush towel like the cobra 600. I just wonder if a plush towel will remove too much product when you want the sealant in it to bond to the car. Any help would be appreciated. I am currently waiting for my favorite brown truck to deliver it.

Thanks

I always use it like any other QD, works very well

Same here!!! Just flip the microfiber and buff, after spraying a little bit and evenly spreading on each panel of the vehicle. :dblthumb2:

Randy, a couple things to note on this product (and it happens to be my go-to, favorite QD):
  • The bottle is comes in has an incredibly fine sprayer. It's almost a mister or atomizer vs. your standard sprayer. It will put down a very fine, thin layer, and a little goes a LONG way.
  • You may find that you have to experiment with the type of MF that you use to buff it in. Too fine a MF, and you may find that it tends to smear. I typically use a polishing MF to great effect.
  • Wipe slowly, especially in warm weather, as that tends to finish better (as least it does for me, and I'm in SoCal.
  • This product will not "clean" at all. It's strictly a sealant. So, if you have water spots that you're trying to get off, this won't do it.
YMMV, but in my experience, this is easily the best QD on the market, and I couldn't live without it.

Love the stuff. It will lay nicely on the paint as you wipe, and feels like opti-seal how it flattens and dissapears under the towel.

I just started using this stuff. I have Banana Armour/Orange Crush
lsp and got the Red Mist last month. I am just amazed on how well
this stuff works ! I use a microfiber towel with the flip sides method to apply and remove.

Thanks for all your help guys. Because it does not clean can I assume I need to use another quick detailer first to get the small amount of dust or dirt off before applying Red Mist.

Thanks

You'll be more than fine if you're only dealing with light dust. If it's watermarks, or stubborn dirt, you'll want something else. I'd recommend Finish Kare 425, as it cleans great, and leaves a nice finish. It also does a great job as a drying agent for washing, so you can't go wrong. If you're really looking for a cleaner, I'd suggest Optimum No Rinse, as you can dilute it for multiple uses. Either is a fantastic product, and really should be part of anyone's arsenal.

Thanks again Watermark. I am looking forward to trying Red Mist today. I also agree with you on ONR and water mixed at different strengths. It is a fantastic quick detailer and cleaner and leaves a nice shine.
