Nah, she really has zero interest in my hobbies. She has started to enjoy flying with me though when she realized that she can mark the shopping malls on the gps when we overfly them.

If you need to make amends, maybe you could teach the kid how to do a two bucket wash.

I think sometimes we have to remember there are a lot of people who do not care about detailing or cars the way we do, and there is nothing wrong with that, and it makes life a lot less stressful to be able to let go.

I think the first page of this thread need to be made a sticky and voted best post of the year!

Excellent Post PP! Not laughing at you but because I understand some of your gripes. You can't win an argument with a woman even if she is not a laywer. Women will simply change the rules in the middle of the argument.... and not even acknowledge or admit what just happened...

Just consider yourself lucky that she is a good sugar momma and not the other way around. Because even if it was the other way around she would still be a woman and you would still by default be wrong.

Keep her car clean and hope she doesn't eat lasagna this week!

Good luck

One thing I came to terms with long ago is "most" woman don't really care how dirty their car gets until they can't see out the windshield. Don't misunderstand me, woman LOVE a clean car but keeping it clean is not on their list of priorities.

After I complete a full detail on my wifes car she loves it. The next week it's garaged each night, the interior is spotless but then slowly but surely it deteriorates rather quickly.

I thought I only had this problem :)

""most" woman don't really care how dirty their car gets until they can't see out the windshield"...

"most women use the car as a purse on wheels..."

"women will simply change the rules in the middle of the argument.... and not even acknowledge or admit what just happened..."

What does not opposite sex have to say about this? There are plenty of female auto enthusiasts and professionals on this forum!

It sounds as if "most" of you are speaking from the assumption that the males on this forum are a representative sample of the male car-owning population. Convince me; cause I know plenty of guys that you just described, and plenty of females with very tidy rides.

I couldn't agree more jb. My intention of the post was not to offend or cast dispersions on the opposite sex. It is just my dry sense of humor and poking fun at my wife. Believe me, I get it back ten fold and that is cool.

A little back story on this. The kid is starting the wash business because he wants to buy a trolling motor for his little boat. His mom said that he has to work for it. He is only charging $5.00 a wash and it would be summer by the time he raised enough capital. So, I am going to let him help me on a few full corrections I have this month. After we are done, I will haul him down to the boat store and buy him his motor. He will earn it and hopefully learn something in the process.

I take it that you are a female. I think this thread is not so much an indictment of women in regards to car care, but frustration of members that their "better halves" by and large don't share in their Autogeekian preoccupation. Certainly there are many men that have clue nor care about their cars, and there are many women (like my friend Jr.) who, as you say, keep their rides "tidy".

Ha. No, I'm just often out to represent an objective perspective as opposed to thinking from mutually agreed upon assumptions that I find quite limiting to free thought. This is not personal in the slightest.

...she is a very accomplished lawyer and you will not win any arguements.

I had a suggestion for you until I read that part. My idea would be kinda pricey and you'd probably have to change your username to used-Nash Pilot. :D In my case I looked at it as an investment rather than an expense.... kind of like a happiness tax! :props:

She is a divorce lawyer...it would be Yugo Pilot!

. Luckily I had a bottle of aspirin nearby. I quickly consumed a handful hoping to slow down the blood clot that was travelling towards my brain...
... my wife has apparently found the only store in the state that sells bags of crumbs. I swear, it looked like a hamster cage in there!

LOL LOL LOL

Funny read all the way through. Thanx for the post.
