the 'whats currently on your mind' thread

What an appropriate thread for me to reply to. Not that anyone noticed me being gone, but I haven't been active here because my wife and I now have an eight week (on Wednesday) old son. What an awesome eight weeks it has been!

Also, we put our house up for sale last Thursday and had it sold that Saturday! We made an offer on a house we've been looking at for months, and the rest is history. We sign off on the current house and close on the new house on April 15th, so there will be another Autogeek hiatus for me.

Anyway, that's what has been on my mind. But I'm loving every minute of it!!

Congrats on the new arrival and the new house! :props:

Excited... 10 more days and i'll be back in the States. Sleeping in my own bed, making dinner with my fiance, driving and cleaning my car, able to drive where I want when I want. Every time i'm deployed it makes me realize all the small things that you take for granted. Like hot water, home-cooked meal, talking on the phone more then 15 mins/2 times a week. It's time to come home lol

price of gas :(

I hear you on that! It's $3.59 at the gas station down the street from me. And the pumps shut me off when I use my debit card at $75...so my truck is never full! lol. I may need to down size to a smaller truck...

What is on my mind? Well A lot but most of all that my 11 almost 12 year old son will be cured soon... He has Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia... He is a strong solider and has been teaching me to be stronger in my daily walk with God and how to be a better dad but just seeing the pain and weariness that he is in breaks me down... I know that my wife and I are strong and that he will get through it it is just what has been on my mind a lot recently as well as trying to get the shop opened up and running but the dang snow and weather keeps on hindering that...

it looks like many of us have alot going on, i wish all of you the best in taking care of any situation you are in...

Same to you BigAl!

And rove - your certainly a strong person and great father sticking with your son. It has to be a hard situation to deal with seeing your child go through such a bad thing. My prayers are with you and your family!

Rove, you and your whole family are in my prayers. That must be tougher than I could ever even hope to imagine.

My problems are nothing near that but here it goes............

trying to get over this girl who has a boyfriend. She knows I like her (told her) and that it hurts being her friend sometimes (i told her that) yet she is always texting me and wanting to hang out. It's frickin killing me. I feel like I'm getting such mixed signals here. I don't know what to do...........

Just put new Michelin Harmony tires on the Olds. What a difference from my old Hankooks! :righton: It handles so much better - better braking, better acceleration (that one may be my imagination), better traction in wet weather (had to drive in the rain today), better absorption from bumps, smoother ride - couldn't believe it. Amazing how much difference a good set of tires makes. Nice smooth ride down to Detail Fest! Im the MAN

@rove - My prayers for your the good health of your son! :)

btw loads of things on my mind!!!

Need to get the front and rear bumpers of my car repainted as the bodyshop hack detailer burned the paint off of the edges with a rotary!!!

Check out the damage!!!

Posted this on my Facebook wall the other day. It's hard watching a beloved pet get old. My dog Roscoe is 13 years old. He is completely deaf, slow, has trouble "holding it in", and is generally losing touch with what is going on around him. Gonna miss him terribly when he leaves me - I've had him since I was 10 years old, so I've pretty much grown up with this dog. We got him as a stray dog just wandering the neighborhood we lived in at the time, and he's the best friend I've ever had. When I lose him, I suspect I will lose a part of myself.

wow man... im like starting to feel so damn depressed already knowing the fact that my dog is going to pass away one day. i live in an apartment and hes here all the time with us. i see him as a little brother, he comes to the door with his tail wagging when we come home and gets really excited... its those things that you know are TRUE feelings your dog has for you, unlike humans who can say they love you and back stab you as soon as you turn around.... thats why dogs are your only true loyal friends, they are always there for you! this is a picture of my boy bobby!
