Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher Combo with 5.5in pads?

Am I correct in thinking that the $169 PC combo used to come with a 6in backing plate and 6.5in pads? How long has it been available with the 5in backing plate and 5.5in pads? Would I be able to polish a car with what is included? Thanks!

Depends what combo you are referring too and yes most people like to use the 5.5 over the 6.5 with the Porter Cable.

Well I was refering to this combo-Porter Cable 7424 Car Buffer, 7424 Polisher
Is this a good starting point to learn how to remove defects and to add shine? Is there anything else I should get? Thanks!
