Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel vs. Optimum Power Clean *PICS*

Megs APC will outperform both of those products anyday ... I carry 2 bottles... 1:6 and 1:3 and it does it all all around and for 12.99 a gallon why buy a specialty product?
I have a good feeling you've never tried OPC.

Meg's APC+ is awesome too, no doubt about it, I just prefer OPC. I gave my APC+ to a friend :)

You tell 'em!!!
:dblthumb2:

BTW, if you haven't tried OPC, I have, and I got your back man!

admittedly and honestly unlike most that will say "i tried it and it sux" I havent tried OPC .... BUT "if you find something that works, use it and use it often"! Megs APC Green works wonders for me .. the APC+ i just dont know why I cant say the same for?
but as for the pic ... the side you favor looks relatively dry and to me that says the PH level is high and that could potentially lead to premature fading and cracking NO? or am I over analyzing it?

I'm glad you mentioned that because I too thought it looked dried out.

It's just clean. I know we all have our favorites, but let's not TRY to come up with things that really aren't the case ;)

one of the reasons I like Megs APC Green is because on leather it actually leaves leather soft after foaming up and agitation, maybe its the "fabric enhancers".... Heres a clip on it ...

Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner is ideal for reconditioning all interior surfaces. All Purpose Cleaner's superior foaming action gently lifts the dirt away while its unique blend of fabric softeners and optical brighteners enhance the look and feel of carpet, upholstery, vinyl and even leather.

I'm certainly not doing that Mark. Optimum is one of my favorites... Like I said that really did cross my mind when viewing that picture but I just figured it was the picture...

Hey buddy! I was looking for a picture related to something else and ran across this. Just thought I would post this picture from my Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel use. I just thought it was important to post it since people like David are getting the idea this product is a failure... That was aged ground in dirt.

Cool Mark, thanks for letting me post that in your thread. :dblthumb2:

Interesting find everyone! I decided to go give the ultima another good scrub to see if I could get it closer to the OPC side. I didn't tape anything off, so I naturally scrubbed the OPC side as well. To my surprise, UISG DARKENED the OPC side. The UISG side looks to be clean, just darker! I don't get it????

Thanks a bunch for not giving up on further testing Mark! Much appreciated and a testament to your honesty. :props:

This is what I was getting at with the comment that the other side seemed a little dry.

....................
Pros:
1.- Ease of use
2.- Viscosity is perfect. Easily spray able but not as runny as water
3.- Safe for all interior surfaces
4.- Leaves the natural sheen that your finish was meant to have

I honestly trust your judgmental Corey, that's why I didn't want to give up on UISG. ;) The first thought after I noticed the darkening effect of UISG, I thought OPC may nave stripped the natural color?!?! Maybe this coincides with the problem I had with the BMW???

Thanks Mark! I don't think it stripped the color. I just think it dried it out a little since the dash is so old and is probably dry underneath it all anyway.

I don't think it's the same as what happened on the BMW but there could be a relation. The relation being that it is a very strong cleaner. On the BMW you went 10:1 so I think it was a re dye on that panel or some dressing and stuff hiding what was already there.

Makes sense, Corey. :dblthumb2: Now gonna go eat my Domino's!!!!!! :D

I'm not sure why some think that it's nonsense to compare a interior cleaner to an APC? Both of these products specifically state they can be used to clean interiors, so why not compare them?

I'm not saying it's a failure, but for me personally I think it's a weak cleaner. And for $17.99 RTU it's way too expensive. It's really not even in the same playing field as OPC IMHO. I know you love Ultima and you have every right to have your opinion(which I totally respect btw). That's why I'm giving mine based on Mark's findings and by just now reading your review you linked. I noticed in your video titled: 2-UISG Application with brush the taped line dirt area took you about 20(of about 40 total) back and forth stiff scrub brush strokes before it started to make the dirt dissappear. For me, that's unacceptable for lots of reasons. I have and could never use a product that required that much effort to clean dirt off a plastic trim panel (which is really easy). No matter how safe it claims to be. I can think of dozens of cleaners that get the job done in a fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost. Optimum diluted 10 to 1 would still get the job done faster and for alot less.

Why would anyone reach for UISG instead of any other product to clean an interior with? What is the benefit of doing so?
