New Product - Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0

If you apply Opti-Coat on a vehicle and it becomes marred a year or two down the road what is the best course of action?

Can you simply polish Opti-Coat back to perfection and apply an additional layer over top of the previously applied layer?
 
If you apply Opti-Coat 2.0 what happens to OCW and OS useless??
 
Chris, Perhaps you missed this post. I know there is a lot of excitement about this product, but, can you please answer my earlier post?

Chris, I'm thrilled you guys finally got this to market. One question that hasn't been asked yet is that how does the longevity of OC compare to OG? I have a full syringe of the original OC, will it outperform the new OC or is it just a matter of ease of application? I can get both, so I want the product which is going to last the longest.
 
Sorry about that richy, Opti Guard has a little more actives and a little less solvent, but this only translates into different quantities to do basically the same job. You might see a little more durability from Opti Guard forming a faster bond, but not enough to effect the results significantly. Longevity hasn't been documented as thoroughly as Opti Guard, obviously...but with the same chemistry they are very comparable. I think your price point is going to be a little better with the Opti Guard since it's a little more concentrated.

Yes, Opti Guard and Opti Coat 2.0 can be polished. If you find that you have to polish aggressively enough that the properties of the coating cease, polish the entire panel before you reapply because it cannot be layered.

Opti Coat 2.0 will be your LSP. You can use OCW as a drying aid, but neither Opti Seal nor OCW will "stick" to the coating and only last a few days.
 
Would Opti-coat protect areas around stone chips from rusting? I thought it might. When you say permanent, any idea of how durable it will be?

I thought it was not recommended to use OCW as a drying aid only OID?

Yes it does. It repells water better than any sealant or wax I have used. I have opti coat pro but I'd assume the 2.0 has the same water repelling effects.
 
I think 2.0 is just the same except that it sets in a longer time thereby giving the user the flexibility to take their time and not miss buffing any spots!
 
Man, I just read through the description of this stuff. They really talk a big game...saying goodbye to wax, washing is the only maintenance necessary, etc.

My questions are...does it REALLY last indefinitely? I mean that sounds a little crazy to me. Even clear coat isn't indefinite...it does eventually thin out, oxidize, or possibly fail in due time. If kept up with...then it will last a long time. But indefinitely!?

Also, how does it look? I picture this stuff possibly going on a bit hazy.

And another question...what should we be charging for this service? I mean an application that is meant to last forever should have a hefty price tag...am I wrong? Does anybody charge for this product already?

I meant to reduce spots while drying not to apply when wet. I always like to have my drying towel damp with something...you just asked what you could still use OCW or OS for after applying the coating. No mention of OID, right?

Talk is cheap, Opti Coat spent years in development and testing. Look around on the forums, there are plenty of reviews with pics and durability updates.

Yes, it's there until you abrade it off. Some have reported beading to fall off after a period on the windshield, but constant wiper friction can do the same effect as abrasives over time.

Opti Coat goes on a little blurry, but not hazy at all. You will see that with nano sealants that have to be buffed after setting up for a while. OC is not a sealant. It actually reacts with and becomes part of the finish. As the carrier flashes off you will see some rainbow effects. As these disappear OC drys completely clear. Any rainbow left after 5-10 minutes needs to be evened out with the applicator. You have up to 30 minutes or so to even out Opti Coat 2.0 while the original needs to be fixed within 2-5 minutes or it's there.

I usually charge $150-$200 for an average vehicle. This is above all the cleaning and correcting fees. Others have posted $300-$500 but as easy as it is to apply, I couldn't sleep at night charging that. These prices are based on the pro version. Since the consumer version cures slower, you'd have to keep the vehicle longer to ensure the custom didn't compromise it while it cures. Feel free to offer it any way you like.

^So, after 5-10 mins, the non flashed portions have to be wiped with a microfiber or the applicator?(wont applicator add more product there?)

You're just evening out a high/thick spot. You are not trying to remove it. And you definitely want to let it level itself and not be wiping it as it dries or it will feel a bit rough. if you have ever used Opti Seal you'll love this.

Chris, I presume that this product will essentially restore the UV protection to headlights that have yellowed and been sanded/polished back?
 
More Info. on the Guarantee ??

What is the duration of durability ?? (How long will it last between coats).

Suppose you apply the OOC 2.0 and want to reapply a new coat later due to what ever reason, etc. What is the product removal procedure ??
