Ok, so I have been detailing my wife's car and mine for some time now. I now want to start my own mobile detailing business. Can I get an input from most of you as to all the materials and equipment I will need to run this business in a successful profitable manner? Thanks

There are a lt of threads on here for mobile the best advice that I know is do a search and compile all of the information from there weeding through all of it and jotting down the products that tend to come up constantly... That is what I did when I was starting up my brick and mortar building...

I agree. There have been probably 10 or 12 threads started in the past month about this alone. Search function can be your friend!

It is a pretty outdated list, but I'm sure you get the idea. Click here for my recomendation. There is also some great sample kits from Poorboy that you can get on Autogeek which has just about everything you need to detail a car minus the machines. Poorboys World Polishing & Detailing Products: High quality, low cost car care products! poor boy's car care, poorboy's detailing products, poorboys They used to have one that had all of their products in it, but I don't see that anymore.

Of course this advice is just for the weekend warrior. If you are planning on quitting your day job and making a career out of this, then there is a lot more to it and I don't know that detailing your own personal vehicles for the past little while is enough experience to work with. You could spend several thousand dollars on getting a real mobile business set up. So I guess the first thing you should do is decide how serious you are going to attack this idea and then go from there. There isn't anything wrong with being a hobbiest detailer on the side and getting some extra money that way, but the way you go about establishing that kind of business is very different from being a full time professional mobile detailing business.
