had a warehouse meeting yesterday. in the spirt of going green, the company in their wisdom decided to go BI-WEEKLY pay from weekly. i do not like this move at all! most co-workers i talked to, did not favor this move also. this will go in effect july. i worked past jobs that were bi-weekly, and you really have to budget differently!

I completely agree with you. definitely have to budget your pay checks.

I was weekly, then went to bi-weekly, then bi-monthly...now i'm back to Bi-weekly. Which I'm use to now.

You'll adjust. Just give it some time.

yes i feel ur pain. switched at the beginning of 2010 to bi weekly. i absolutely hate it. i kept telling my self, ill just hold back half of it til the next friday. NEVER works. lol

I am bi-weekly, I really don't see much of a difference between the two. It is still the same amount of money. I still pay the same bills every month.

I get paid 2x a month.....it is tough, you have to really budget your money. Usually you are so desperate to get paid when you finally get your check that you spend it in a matter of a few days and then you are broke again!

A lesson I learned that helps me is to wait to buy groceries etc until about 4 days before I get paid then when I get my check I don't have to run out and buy a whole bunch of stuff and use all of my money right after I get paid....it is a trick that works for me. But I am strict with my budget, and don't use my credit cards much.

Try to budget this pay period...I get paid once a month. But, it is a goodly sum.

i hear ya. i get paid bi-weekly, and i budget planning on getting paid twice a week. by doing this, u end up with 2 extra paychecks a year since 2 months out the year u get 3 paychecks. always is like a lil bonus on those months =)

Dude...I worked once at a university that paid out monthly.

I get paid every 4 weeks if im lucky. Not uncommon to go 6.. Not that big of a deal after the first time. You get used to it real quick.

Where I work pays out weekly, which kinda surprised me when I first started (2 yrs ago), but I am always thinking that they are going to change it to cut some costs.

I don't see an issue here. During my 20 years Air Force active duty I was paid every two weeks, the 1st and the 15th. During my 20 years as a Federal employee, I was paid bi-weekly. Just go with the flow and in a few weeks you won't know the difference.

I didn't think that many places paid weekly. I've been paid every 2 weeks at all my jobs. Look on the bright side it saves a lot of payroll costs not to have to send a check out every week.

Thank you. I was waiting for someone to say this. My Wife and I both get paid on the 15'th and the last day of the month. We just pay our bills and don't spend money we don't have.

I've had various pay periods - weekly, bi-weekly and monthly. No diff. It's still the same amount of money. Stick to your budget. If you don't have one, you'd better make one. Don't spend money you don't have. When you go from weekly to bi-weekly, the pay diff IS NOT EXTRA MONEY WOOHOO.

Going from weekly to every other week isn't bad, you still get the same amount. Try going from twice a month to every other week, it's not the same amount.

You go from 24 pay days to 26, that means you'll get 2 "extra" pay days thrown in the year but the other 24 pay checks are for less money. Where I work now I get paid every two weeks and it's fine now that I'm used to it, my previous job was once a month.
