New Car CQuartz detail - 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport

Nice write-up!

There are a few things about Opti-Coat I'm leery of and am thus looking forward to using CQuartz. Great to keep hearing how easy it is to apply!

I did hear that CQuartz is easier to apply, and that is why I chose it over Opti Coat 2.0. When I do the Camry, which is dark red, I'll use Opti Coat - on that color I can actually see where it's been applied.

Congrats on your new truck Matt. Nice write up. Isn't claying recommened after using IronX?

To remove contaminants other than iron, yes. The paint on this truck did not need it. And thank you :)

So far this stuff has gotten way slicker over the past few days. When I first applied it, it felt "smooth", but not slick by any means. Fast forward to today, and the paint feels drastically slicker. I had a bunch of bugs on the front end from all the highway driving I do, and some Opti Clean took them right off without a problem. :xyxthumbs: Will post more updates as they come along and some beading shots this weekend when I wash the truck.

Thanks for the great write up. Helps to clarify the process.

No problem. I'm planning on using Opti Coat 2.0 this Saturday so expect another write-up this weekend.

Nice Matt, I am almost 100% sure that Toyota white is single stage paint. You can apply Cquarts over single stage paints and plastics? Also how easy is the application and removal of the product.

Keep us posted with how long it last

It is single stage AFAIK. Don't see why it wouldn't work like anything else. So far so good, finally got rained on today and the beading looked pretty insane - reminded me of Collinite 476S.

Nice write up and documentation! Good luck with the new ride! I dont like how small the applicator is...... Did you have any trouble applying with it?

Yes, they were fine for the most part on paint, but any textured/curved areas made them fall apart rather quickly. I was getting about 2 panels done before each applicator fell apart. I may use foam next time...

guys , there are two kinds of packings !, simple 30ml bottle , which we supply 5 pcs of cotton pads with it. and the kit pack, including our applicator and 5 suede MF 10cm2 .
this for more easier application , some like the cotton some like with the applicator, you can see close pics how they look like, i think PBMA selling these separately as well.

the idea is to wrap the small suede round the applicator on the soft black strip and apply, not on the applicator itself since you do want to re-use after again,
the cquartz once dried on the suede after 1 day will make it hard , the suedes.

Matt how is it holding up on the truck. Keep us posted because after your review and cee's review I'm thinking about applying this to me truck and the gfs carolla
