Even if the policy is non-refundable deposits, I still find it unethical to keep the money when no service was provided. Unfortunately, Detailing inc., it's your fault. He did not "steal" from you.

:iagree: to a degree, but if you don't make an example out of someone, then your entire schedule will run amuck. I bet anyone else who views this thread and is considering the course will make damn sure their schedule is cleared :work:

All too true, I'm sure Paul is pretty busy and needs to keep a tight schedule...

But I still think it's wrong to just keep all the money without providing anything in return, regardless of being written in a contract. A $200 non-refundable deposit I can see, but $2200? I guess it weeds out those who aren't serious and any potential no-shows.

Question for OP, was $2200 the entire cost of the training? Was a full-cost deposit required? Or did you prepay in full voluntarily?

I have some land on the moon for sale if anybody is interested.

Only 500$ per acre.

Upon arriving you can carve Paul Daltons name in the moon rock for an additional 3300$

Not to make light of your loss but I can't help but feel a sense of awe that someone would pay that much for a detailing lesson.

I am sorry for your loss...

Barry Theal hit the nail on the head. What could Paul teach you that Renny has/can not? There is no magical detailing potion in England. I have been there and it's cold, rainy, the food sucks but the earth still rotates the same as it does in the U.S. Paul is an excellent marketer and it has served him well. You can't blame the guy for your airlines screwup. Paul Dalton is running a business...successful I might add.

Good question. I've always been taught to never pay more then 50% on anything untill services are rendered

I also would not keep someones entire deposit..... Well, maybe I would if they created a thread on a forum bashing my good name :dig:

I wonder if this response was what "Detailinginc" expected. I bet he thought everyone would say "Screw Paul Dalton! I'm never going to him and I've changed my mind about him because of what Detailinginc posted"......

I offer my services to you as well. For the low price of $500 I will go anywhere and do anything you ask (unless I don't feel like it). :D

Well as W.C. Fields said, there's a sucker born every minute.Nuff said.

yes I did...actually...Hi...My name is Jason...of Detailing, Inc... from Long Islands, Hamptons...and Miami Beach Florida in the winter..I dont care how known he is....nor do care about helpful posts because while your busy posting here....Im on a 150' megayacht doing a multi-stage polish job making money......what is helpful is that Im letting you know this guy Paul Dalton who has obviously got you fooled too....will scam you of your money....I paid him $2200.00 for the detail training and because of an airline mistake he is not giving me a dime back......hope this helps...

Makes no sense for you to brag? You really have no business setting foot on a $10,000,000++ yacht if you're naive enough to fly to the UK and pay someone $2200 to learn how to detail! Postive reinforcement that there's a sucker born every minute huh? :hungry:

Feel free to contact me when you're down hear so I can give you some pointers! :dblthumb2:
