thanks! the customer really wanted a WOW shot. i think he might make a large framed picture of it. its really nice, coilovers, bbs wheels, apr reprogramming, dsg transmission and he is doing a k04 turbo upgrade. makes me want one myself.

That's everything on my wishlist (except DSG). The k04 should get that bad boy over 350hp.

My mazdaspeed3 has a k04, its a pretty small turbo. Over 350hp really with that? How much boost do you gotta put through it to get that much horsepower out of that engine.. its already turbocharged and only makes 200HP does it not?

K04 with the APR program.

Edit: my bad 334 with intake, downpipe, and 93 octane.

the gti will run high 12's qtr mile with k04/intercooler upgrade

That's pretty impressive, gaining so much power with just intake/downpipe and a tune. The stock intake and exhaust must be very restrictive.

I think the stock chip is very conservative. I bet the Speed 3 has the same thing going on. The hp difference between the Speed3 and GTI is probably due to the k04 turbo. You have a great advantage of already having the k04. Have you looked into having it reprogrammed?

i dont believe you cant compare the two on hp because the GTI is rated at the wheels while the mazda is not.

No man they're both rated at the engine.

Golf GTI Mk6 = 207hp @ crank
MazdaSpeed3 Gen2 = 263 @ crank

Pretty much the only time you get HP rated at the wheels is when the car is put onto a chassis dyno, manufacturers almost never publish HP@wheels as people would just be disappointed with the numbers.

I think the most HP you can get out of a mazdaspeed3 engine SAFELY, without upgrading the internals of the engine is like ~300 at the wheels. To do that you need a tune, cold air intake, downpipe, catback, and a fuel pump upgrade..

i know for sure the 200 hp GTI is rated at the wheels, i just checked and mazdaspeed3 is crank hp, so these two cars are closer than you think, the GTI is dumbed down quite a bit, thats why with some tuning/reprogramming they can achieve amazing results.

Please show me where VW says its rated 200HP at the wheels, because i know that engine is rated 207hp at the crank and you definitely lose more than 7hp on the way to the ground.

look up 2010 stock GTI dyno runs on google, almost all of them are 200+ results, the engine is rated 200hp 207torque

heres a link check it out

Ok so then VW is underrating its engines for some reason, I think I've read some german cars are like that (dunno why). That engine is actually making a lot more HP than its rated at. Pretty cool :)

yeah mostly only see these types of ratings with german vehicles
