Hey guys...... just curious if anyone here has experience with Semis?!?!?! I've got one coming up in a week to do a full exterior on and am trying to use this to get my foot in this industry. Any do's and don'ts that anyone here can enlighten me on?!?!?! Any advice would be greatly appreciated :dblthumb2:.

I am going to have to disagree my friend lol. I have a slight foot in the door of a local trucking company and my foot in the door says they pay very good money up front for contracts to keep up on their rides. The only people I know out here that detail Semis make 1,000 a pop..... they have 60 in middle TN and 3,000 in the South East. I am going to spend the rainy days of the week proposing a nice package for this company - so pray for me guys!!! This would be it for sure :dblthumb2:. But I do need a lot of advice still....... every industry has their little things that are different. RVS have gel coats and fiberglass / Aviation has its safety areas / etc. What are the little things with Semis?!?!?!

I think one big challenge, at least for me, is all the chrome on those things. Company rigs may not be all dressed up. I hate polishing metal, hate it. I cant imagine doing a semi that is fully dressed. But, alot of fiberglass facias and sheetmetal for the rest. Your rotary and all in ones should make quick work of one. Are trailers included or just the cabs?

According to this gentleman they wash their rigs twice a week...... Im going to propose a biweekly wash and a biannually full detail in and out. I dont mind polishing metal..... maybe cause Im used to the brightwork of aircraft (alot of surface at times). I think I may need to stock up on a lot of metal polish now that you say that though!

I detailed one 25 years ago. That was enough for me

Good luck Anthony,

Good luck Anthony with the possible jobs.

Preciate it man - I could probably match that salary we talked about if I get this lol. Thanx again for your help the other night - much needed...... still waiting on your Drywash review :)

Even with the fear of all the hard work, your price point may prove to make this endeavour a solid cash flow machine for you. Fleet work of this size may be causing an unplanned expansion of B & B Detailing. That my friend, is not a bad thing. Best of luck!

I actually used it today on a friends ride (95 Acura Integra 4door) that had a 1 stage frost white paint job. I wish I had my camera, but it was kinda a spur of the moment job. Needless to say after seeing it before and after, they asked me if I wanna go in half on a $80 purchase on some. It was an amazing end result, and I'll be doing a full review when I get my ride back.
