I had a co-worker of mine bring me his Mercedes C230 to have a 1 step paint correction done on it. He dropped the car off with me on Thursday night and is picking it up today.

This car's paint was extremely hard. The one step I did in my test spot was not up to my standards and really probably only got about 10-15% correction. Which wasn't making me happy as this car was swirl city. So being a friend/co-worker I decided to do a 2 step correction instead of a 1 step. I wasn't going for absolute perfection and honestly I'm glad I wasn't. The paint was very hard to correct. I ended up with about 80-85% correction. There were a lot of RIDS and paint chips that were left alone.

Over all I worked for about 15 hours. I couldn't get the paint to finish down without holograms with my Flex PE14, so I ended up having to finish with my DA. It was a beautiful rainy day on Saturday here so I didn't mind spending it in my garage. Only issue was I had no sun light to work with and the lighting I have in my garage is not very good. So, I found a couple holograms after I pulled it into the sun on Sunday. There aren't a lot but a couple. He will be coming back and having me fix the few that are left. (at no charge since it's my fault)

Nice rainy day....

Main reason he brought me the car was to get the badge marking removed.

Wheels were cleaned first then the whole car was foamed with a mixture of DP Xtreme Foam and Dawn.

After the foaming I used a two bucket method and washed the whole car, then pulled the car into the garage and clayed. (sorry no pics of this)

After the car was clayed I taped up the hood for my test spot. As you can see this car was swirl city.

50/50 of my test spot after tape was removed. Note this is only after the initial compound.

And the afters. Just as a note the sun spots appear to be like stars. It seems to be the setting that the camera was on. My gf tried to explain it to me but I don't get the camera thing.

Appreciate it!

It definitely was the hardest paint that I've worked on. I'm by no means a pro at paint correction yet though.

Oh my! Knowing MB and being a firm believer in "The Mercedes Syndrome" I think this car looks outstanding!!!

Not to offend any MB owners, but the typical owner of a car like this wants to keep their car clean, and end up beating it up really bad as they send it through automatic car washes or "jax's" detailing service much more frequently maybe than other types of cars. In this case this is very evident as the paint is hard but the defects are extremely deep. Take this into account and readers will see the correction done is truly outstanding!

Good job!

Looks good to me Jason. I really like the look of a debadged car :props:
