i was just wondering what people are using for wash mitts. i am in need of a new one.

I had been using the sheepskin kind, but that is seeing it last days.

thanks in advance.

I love my sea sponge, but you will find people either love or hate them! Outside of that I use a boarshair brush for washing.

I'm a microfiber wash mitt fan - just my preference. Lambswool feels funny to me. heh

Are you a vegetarian? Do you not like using an animal to clean your car?

I have been real leery about sponges. it doesn't scratch at all?

I have 3 different styles that I use.
1. Mothers Sheepskin Washmitt
2. Cobra Chenile Microfiber Washmitt
3. Grout Sponges

All three have their strengths and weaknesses.

I use the "dreadlock" type, but the Dodo Juice ones are looking interesting.

Nope, these don't scratch. I'm leery of the dreadlock MF mitts. I feel like they collect dirt in the dreads and don't release it well and each dread is a pressure point, if it catches some dirt it's gonna scratch. In fact I blame them for some light swirls. Mine were quickly "demoted" to letting friends use them.

It's all personal preference but one thing I like about the sponges is how it conforms to window trim, emblems etc.. For example, along the top of both windshield and rear window on my car there is a deep groove that, without special attention, tends to get missed with wash media other than the sponges. By running the sponge along the groove, it perfectly conforms to the shape, with others I have to intentionally place a dreadlock or bunch up a MF right in the groove and press directly on the area as I move along the groove. Also, it is very easy to tell if the sponge is clean, while the dreadlock mits are near impossible to inspect for debris/contamination.

I like my DoDo Yeti's fist too, but only use it on occasion because of the maintenance it requires.

What maintenance do you have to do on the Yeti's Fist?

Well "have to" is subjective, what I do is-
Thorough rinse and inspection for debris, roll it up in a large MF towel and squeeze to dry the wool as best as possible, comb the wool, turn it inside out and repeat the drying step, let the inside dry over night, turn right side in and let the wool dry, place it in the "mit's drawer" for storage. I've heard that they will rot and smell bad if left wet, no chances taken on this one.

With the sponges I just give them a thorough rinse, squeeze out excess water and leave 'em in a bucket with grit guards so any leftover water drains out and the sponges aren't left sitting in a pool of water.

Still haven't opened my pair of LC Red Ultimits, guess I'm saving them for something. :dunno:

Cobra Chenile Microfiber Washmitt. Is my choice, but have never tried sponge.

I use a lambswool mitt and recently added one of these from Adams. The one I bought is the smaller 9" X 9" which suits my talks perfectly...:props:

I've tried just about everything out there except the grout sponge, and my favorite is the Yeti. However, as David aka A4 1.8tqm said, it is somewhat pet-like in that it requires good grooming.

 My sentiments exactly!

I really do like the Adams wash pads and also Griots microfiber wash pads.

I really do like the Adams wash mits.

I'm curious about this one. Is it a mitt or more of a lambswool towel (for lack of a better word)? Are they hard to hold onto once they get soapy? With a mitt that slides over your hand it stays put which to me is one advantage...given I'm klutzy .
