I was thinking this was going to be an easy job. The car is only a year old. But, they have 3 kids and I know what it's like to clean up only after 2 of them. Yikes. Also, this car had both tar and fallout on it. Yep, as usual, more work than anticipated. Oh well, always up for a challenge.
Wheels/Wells/Tires:
I started with this as usual. The wheels got Megs WB followed by Zep Citrus to neutralize the acid.
The wells were cleaned with Zep Citrus.
The tires were cleaned with Zep purple.
The tires were subsequently treated with Opti bond.
The wells were subsequently dressed with Adams US.
The wheels were subsequently treated with CQ.
Here is the car as it was delivered to me. I first went over it with Tarminator on a dry surface as it's a solvent and doesn't mix well with water. Good news is that it got rid of the tar that was splattered along the sides.
As you can see, the interior was going to be a challenge. It seemed like chocolate in the seams of the leather seats. I would alter the way I used my steamer on this job.
The exterior had quite a bit of rust coloured fallout on it. The car was foamed in preparation to being treated with ironx. I used a sample of CG Maxi Suds that Heath had sent me. It worked well in my foam cannon.
I then washed the car with DG 901 and then flooded it to rinse it. That was followed by drying the surface with a leaf blower. The remaining water was dried with a ww mf. Now it was ready for ironx.
Check out these examples of what the car was covered in:
For a white car, it had a lot of purple!! Check out ironx in action on this one year old car:
