AutoGeek OWNS autopia, imo

I only browse Autopia because they have good products that AG does not carry at the moment. I only post here because this is a family! :)

There aren't many that AG does not carry. They keep adding lines every month. I bet you're gonna see alot more exciting things happen this spring too!

Justin...

You can unload all you want. I was just surprised at your comment that you made considering that you post on Autopia on a daily basis. If you had issues with the Autopia forum why would you continue to post there? Every detail that you do is posted on both forums?

Trust me I am not trying to turn this thread into AG vs Autopia. As I stated earlier they are both awesome forums and frequent them daily.

Menzerna and Jeff Werkstatt
Everything else I use is AG or OTC

I do post there and everyone here knows I do. That's why it was such a shock here when I got weekend banned. I do post there but not as much. I just don't have that warm feeling there anymore. No one could answer me to what I did wrong.......for over 3 days. There are a ton more mods there than here. I get an answer here in minutes most of the time. I'm not upset at why I was banned........more though on how it was handled.

I was and am excited about AG's service and products. I've never seen one person get cut off like I did for posting thousands of times about Zaino.

Can you see my point of view?

And if I vented there on the site, it would have just been banned or had the fear of. The only reason I'm still active there is due to the 100+ PMs I got in support of me. I had to tell so many to just calm done and let's see. I have PMs telling me I inspired them to start taking detailing and posting seriously. Heck, I see 75% of the Click&Brags there start out "Detailed:......". I would have never known that I was banned if a user hadn't tried to find my Armor All technique posts.

Oh well.

I love you all!!!!:grouphug:

theres only one forum, who's name we wont mention, that clearly shows by its user count and posts that its doing nothing to move detailing forward. Mostly a group of sour grapes .... the other forums all serve a meaningful purpose. I look at Detailcity, Autopia, and roost my hat at AG.

No picking on Justin, the mods are only allowed to do so !!

I dont think anyone is picking on Justin..obviously he is liked on both forums.
I always thought he knew about his threads being pulled because of the direct links to AG sales pages. After the sales were over they came back up.......if reversed I believe it would happen here also.
I've said it before...Justin is a good guy with informative posts.

The only thing is is that there is a rule here and I would have never posted like I did at Autopia. Autopia has no rule and is open but yet I was banned. I work for no one except myself. There are plenty of other detail suppliers that had their chance with me and blew it. AG didn't.

As for my orders being larger than other for the same amount spent.........
I'm sure if you set up a business account like I have, you would get the same discounts.
I'm sure you all understand this.

I really don't think that anyone venting or expressing opinions is going to be banned on Autopia. Sure we have rules but the site is not run by a Nazi. IMO its one of the fairest forums around.

As I stated before, I and most members on Autopia enjoyed seeing your posts and your work. I hope we continue to do so.

I find between AG and Autopia I get all of the information that I need about automotive detailing.

Autopia was my first discovery into the detailing world. It was helpful, but as I grew I realized it did not grow and the core seemed to have sold their soul to the autopia line. I still browse, but my questions are now saved for here. There are some really talented individuals there though and a nice resource.

How do we set up a business account to get the whole DP line for 100 bucks? BTW I'm not joking, I want it.

Like a lot of others have said I enjoy posting on multiple forums. I also feel especially lucky in that the detailing forum on the owner's club website I frequent is also excellent.

I couldn't agree more. I no longer even bother to review posts on that website.

I was really disappointed when Justin temporarily disappeared on Autopia. I'm sure his posts about AG sales and products rubbed sponsors there the wrong way, but as far as I know there is no rule against that. If people are going to be banned for that even temporarily then they should have a rule against it.

I like AGO.
Glad it came along. Very helpful and friendly site.

I first started with DC, and swore by it. it seems it slowed down quite a bit. I go there to read and see the few friends I have left there...

Autopia is huge. I would have to spend hours and hours reading everyday to stay caught up. I only frequent one or two sub forums there, pro detailing and the Hot Tub. Everything else is just too much for me. I post here and there, not too much.

I read a little on Megs and Mobileworks.

I feel a little left out at times on the forums because I use a brand that no forum store carries. Sometimes I feel that I cannot talk about it, though I do not sell, push, or endorse it. Just a product I feel comfortable using.
Oh well.
I find myself logging into AGO before I look anywhere else...:awesome:

I like both sites they are both have been great to me. Autopia was the site that got me stated into taking care of my baby better and for that I am thankful. AG supplies me with the tools and products I need to get the job done ;)

Autopia is too big IMO and does not feel user friendly...that is why I don't post there. I just stop by to browse and read info. AG is user friendly and a small family atmosphere that makes it superb.

Nothing like dredging up a 5 year old thread

That's what I was thinking...

I was just reading this thread and was scratching my head. This was 5 years old. Now it makes sense.

hahh....It is 5 years old..Geez. So is AG owned by the same group as Autopia? They are both so similar. Or are they two different companies??? I still find AG a lot more user friendly.

AutopiaForums.com and Autopia-CarCare.com are owned by Palm Beach Motoring Group, as is Autogeek.
