how much to charge for headlight restoration?

how much do you guys charge for headlight restoration? $40 for a set of headlights?

later today or tomorrow ill be going to a few car dealerships in my area and giving them my business card, telling them i restore headlights and it will help increase resale value. obviously if they give me a lot of cars i have to give them a discount to make it more appealing to them. i figure if i charge normal customers $40/ set, i should charge a dealer $30/set.

what do you guys think?
 
I charge dealerships $25 per lens. That gets me at the same price of the competition.
 
Most places around here charge $69.95 for a set.

my system:P

tape off surrounding area
wet sand with 600 (or more coarse if necessary)
wet sand with 1000
wet sand with 2000
polish with m105 and orange LC 4" pad on my drill or GG DA polisher. (prefer drill)
polish with m205 and white LC 4" pad on drill or GG
seal with poliseal

i didnt have m105 or m205 and used megs medium-cut cleaner, and megs machine glaze when i did these:

well i charge anywhere between 60 to 75 depends where i have to drive 100 miles radius i find it hard to do business with car dealership around my area most high end dealer have some one in house and they tend to get it done very cheap and you lose out, i try to work with them in bulk like 6 car minium 30 per car
 
I use the 3M system... When I do them with details depends on the package but for instance if I am doing a L3 (one of the top packages) they are $45 to add... A L2 (next step down) to add they are $55... L1 (basic wash, wax, vac, dust) $65... and alone if I am not busy $75... If they "must be crammed in" during a busy day $100.00...

I know there is a lot of variation but hey people pay it...
 
I typically charge any where from $50-$75 for the a set. Depends on if they package it with one of my detail packages and how bad the headlights are.

Don't worry about charging to much. Call any auto dealerships or Firestone type store and check their price. Usually $79.95. If you do good work then your pricing will be a little on the low side. Don't underprice your work.
 
$69.95 - $79.95 seems to be the retail pricing I've seen. Although I've done them as low as $20 per lens for a dealership that told me "do any lights that need it, no need to ask for approval".
