Detailed the HHR yesterday

You can get them lots cheaper online. My understanding is that it's just a plug-in module that needs no tuning.

I think you might be thinking of something else. The turbo upgrade kit is a module that needs to be installed and then the ECU needs to be reprogrammed and tuned for the added HP, etc.

I believe there is just a performance chip but I'm not positive if it's a GM part and may void the warranty.

OK, I was speaking of the dealer-installed module. I stand corrected.

I was just curious about how much extra nuts the upgrade added to the HHR.

The the automatic it's an added 40 HP and I think 20 ft/lb of torque. The ft/lbs of torque I may be a little off on but I know it adds 40 hp bringing the stock 250hp up to 290hp.

Nice work on the SS. Those are pretty fun to drive. Automatic or manual?

If you are looking to add a little power and keep the warranty, the GM Perofrmance Parts upgrade kit is the way to go. If you aren't too concerned with the warranty and want to get quite a bit more power, find someone who has the HP Tuners software and experince with the turbo Ecotecs. Just a tune and some bolt ons really wake those engines up

Unfortunately it's an automatic. I couldn't find the SS model in a manual in the area.

I'd like to keep my warranty so I will be doing limited upgrades. Will probably throw on a cold air intake at some point, only because I can easily swamp the OEM one back on.
