Tire Cleaner suggestions

Any suggestions for a good tire cleaner thats inexpensive?
I would like to get all the brown dirt off the tires then re-apply dressing.
My car has never looked better since i joined this forum.

I use Meguiar's APC+. A gallon is only like $14 and I dilute it to 4:1 or 5:1. It works very well for me. Amazing Roll Off is also a popular choice.
 
Optimum Power Clean. NOT inexpensive but well worth the cost. It can be used on eveything and gets tires black first time. I used it at 3:1 on filthy leather and it looked new after. The other fancy leather cleaners did not even brighten it and this stuff was amazing. If you wince at the price, maybe Zep from Home Depot?
 
Yeah Optimum Power Clean works great at cleaning tires and anything else you need an APC for. I have yet to find anything that even comes close and that includes Megs APC+.
 
Aro is good but Mothers foaming tire and wheel cleaner is better IMO! Both can be had here at Ag and mothers can be found localy.Mothers is a hidden gem.
 
Amazing Roll Off aka ARO is great for tires and wheels. You need to wet surfaces first! A good All Purpose Cleaner like OPC also works!
 
OPC works great but isn't the cheapest, as noted above. A good OTC solution is Eagle One A2Z, or All Wheel and Tire & Tire Cleaner, or whatever they are calling it now, and it can frequently be had on sale or with some sort of coupon. Another one that works is Hi-Temp Tire Cleaner that can be found elsewhere online.
 
If you're talking about the rubber tire only. I like Megs Super Degreaser 4:1 and Mothers Contoured Tire Brush. Both are very inexpensive, and last a long time.
OPC is $36 bucks, Megs Super D or APC is $15. OPC may be great, but it's not 2.5 times the cost better.
 
Sure OPC is a bit on the expensive side BUT it is a product that can be used on anything and be diluted. The same can't be said for the tire cleaners only that all are on the expensive side when compared to OPC. Add up how much those specialty tire cleaners cost to get you 4+ gallons of product, not that cheap now is it ;)

APC has just as many uses and can be diluted as well. I know both products have a tremendous following but if the read the OP's first question:

OPC isn't on the expensive side, it's VERY expensive compared to Megs APC.

You seem to be missing the fact that OPC works MUCH better and can be used on ANYTHING, APC+ isn't as safe nor as good at cleaning. In the long run its a rather inexpensive product.
 
I use Griot's Rubber Cleaner, but I'm sure there are products that are less expensive.

You seems to be missing the point of the OP's request for a inexpensive tire cleaner. Not an inexpensive can be used on ANYTHING cleaner.

You seem to be missing the fact that I can save him even more money by buying OPC and he's asking for a good tire cleaner, APC+ is NOT a good tire cleaner.

That Hi-Temp is cheap, but as you note, you can't really use it for anything else. It's $20 a gallon and I've been using it diluted 4:1. That being said I probably won't buy it again because it lacks versatility and I've noticed it seems to stain the paint on steel wheels if you get it on there (buffs off though), which makes me wonder what it's doing to "good" wheels.

I still think you could do worse than a bottle of EO A2Z at the local store for $5.99.

He's obviously on a budget. APC+ is not the BEST tire cleaner, that's a fact. But he's trying to clean a tire, not reconstruct the Parthenon. APC will work. OPC will work better. Whether it's worth 2.5 times the cost to clean a tire is ultimately the OP's decision.
 
Bleche-white available at most mass retailers. It's cheap and good.
