Appreciate your advise...

I did my second multi-step detail (practiced on my wife's car first) and was really impressed with the results. Here is the process I choose after diligent research on this forum (thanks all!) and a brief discussion with Mike on final product selection with goal that any bubba could do it and not make a bigger problem:

  1. 2 bucket wash
  2. Pinnacle clay
  3. WG TSR
  4. WG FG
  5. WG DGPS
  6. Pinnacle Souverän Carnauba Paste Wax
My question is in regards to the remaining 5% of the swirls remaining.

Should I take my DA polisher, 3" LC CCS Smart orange pad, & WG TSR and do a spot polish to remove the remaining swirls? If that doesnt work, then go to a LC CCS yellow cutting pad? Or, something more aggressive?

Thoughts???

Are these RIDS or Swirls?!?!?

My suggestion would be, to be happy with 95%. If you insist on the other 5% I would suggest wetsanding. But even then you may be left with 1 or 2 %

Flash G: they are light swirls in a handful of areas.

if you already have the bp you could try megs 300 or ulimate compound out-for the 3 inch bp and pad-for spot removal

What are RIDS and how do you know if you have them?

rids=random isolated deep scratches. they look like if a little tiny piece of sand got on an applicator pad while you were working a wax in. i only explain it like that cause has has happened to me before lol.

I would suggest trying a more aggressive product than TSR. I have had good success with Ultimate Compound as it gets rid of RIDS and finishes very well.
