My brother accidentally drove over my GG DA. :( I REALLY like the Griot's DA! Considering I only use the DA with MF system(I use the 3401 for all foam pad polishing) , should I buy the DA that the MF system was designed around? I'm wondering if that would make a difference over the GG DA as far as exact speed setting, etc..?

Ehh, maybe you should order both and make your brother pay for the Griot's on his tab. :D

Don't you mean "Should my brother buy me a G110v2?"

All I can tell you is I love my G110v2, but I've never used a GG6 so I can't compare between the two. I will say the G110v2 is much better than the PCXP (only used a PCXP once that belonged to a friend) and massively better than the original PC.

:dunno:

one thing about it is you never hear of the megs unit breaking down:dblthumb2:

It's interesting that, at least in my experience, that you hear more about the GG and the PC, but not really the Megs even though you say the PC is not as good as the Megs.

This is true. I don't know why.

He mentioned both.

Same with the PCXP, but the PCXP isn't anything to write home about, IME. Charlie(Shiny lil detailer) told me it's better than the PCXP, so I believe it.

thats a good point considering charlie does this for a liveing

Can't you send the GG back and get a new one?

You likely won't be satisfied with the G110V2. I have yet to use a GG 6" ROP but don't you think that buying a less powerful machine to replace a more powerful machine is working in the wrong direction?

If you do end up buying the G110V2 and plan on using it a lot, I suggest looking into getting a beefier power cord for it. The cord on mine has failed 4 times now. The next time I open this thing up it will be getting an industrial grade cord.

Hey Mark,

I see your point regarding Meguiar's Microfiber DA Correction System.

I think some questions to ask;

  • Who makes the Meguiar's G110v2 polishers for Meguiar's?
  • When stacked up side by side how do the specifications compare to one another?

You are the reason I bought my GG...You always had great things to say about it!!:props:

Why not get both and return the one you don't want? Also GG has free shipping & 15% off until 6/26.

From my experiences of using the G110V2 at work vs the GG at home...
The GG is a little louder, and to me it has more of a high pitched whine when it spends where the G110V2 has more "bass" in it's sound, just more of a loud drone. The body of the G110V2 has a more slip resistant coating on it, akin to those penicl grips you find on Bic mechanical penicls where just the part directly over the head of the GG is like that. I also think the G110V2 is a pound lighter.

Having said that, I wouldn't trade my GG for the G110V2. You already know all the high parts about it, but the on/off switch is a much better than the slider on the G110V2, as it's a bit stiff. I think the V2 is also a ##### chunkier, and dunno if you use the handle or not but the handle seems to be bigger as well. I also think the G110V2 runs hotter....much hotter. Waxing three cars during the course of a day at work with the V2 had melted the glue off a Meguiar's 7" finishing pad where a full day of microfiber correcting with the GG was slight warm.

Plus, customer service is going to be excellent with either machine, using either AutoGeek or Griot's or Meguiar's if a problem arises.

As Mike says from time to time...
"Find something you like and use it often"
You like the GG, so use it often. In you case, since it's broke, go buy a new one and start using it often...again.
