Burning through paint? what is this?

My 06 Yamaha FZ1 does the same thing, polish and the pad comes up a little red. It has the tinted clear, there is no damage to it at all, so I'm thinking this is what you are seeing.

The body shop had apparently repainted the hood with a single stage paint, and did a crappy job of it, as it was starting to peel in spots from improper preparation! :eek:

You will never know if the dealer repainted it. They don't have to tell you at all. If this was the first time polishing the car, it could be a repaint. But I agree with the others about the tinted clear.
 
sounds like tinted clear to me. my car has tinted clear what kinda car?
 
It definitely has a tinted clear. It does have the Red Jewel Tint coat option. Duh! Should have known that. But thanks for the feedback everybody.
