I purchased a truck some time ago and it seems the previous only didn't take care of the car all together, but especially the gray trim. I've done some research on products, but nobody has wrote reviews on them. I am looking for some GRAY trim dye to get some of my trim back to looking new.

The products I've used are not dyes, but restoring agents. They didn't seem to hold at all.

Any suggestions?

I've used both showroom new trim dye and Forever Black trim dye with excellent results. Over 1 1/2yrs and still look exactly the same as day one. It is good practice to use trim dyes for neglected plastics and rubbers first before applying any type of trim "dressing" as they are only topical remedies.

Have you tried the Bondo/3m black dye kit from wally world?
I used it successfully to black out white lettering on some tires

I used showroom dye on my trans am. Worked really well and it's been 2 years and it looks as good as the day I did it. It comes in gray too

well there is the SEM trim dye with essentially as mentioned above is repainting the trim. Though I have yet to try it myself so many spesk the praise for UTTG for it restoritive qualities and durability. It does seem spendy, but it a bargin in comparison to pulling all the trim, prepping it and repainting it.

I've read up on the Showroom New Trim Dye and it seems to be the best option. Does AG Sell it?

I've ordered Showroom New Trim Dye in Grey, I will post results after it has been complete.

****Update

I applied the Showroom New Trim Dye on two portions of my trim now. It looks good, but was a real pain to apply even coats. It was also real messy, but worked well!! I will post pictures at a later date

I had a similar problem with Showroom dye. I used it on two different vehicles and only one gave me trouble with even coating. I think the grain and condition of the coating has an effect on the uneven finish.

I couldn't agree more with you. I noticed that on the more depleted surfaces of the trim gave me more difficulties than the less depleted.

To try to fix my issue I used a larger applicator when I could.

Yes, I noticed the roller I purchase for the job was not applying even. After I realized that I started to use a sponge and it worked much better. I just have some trim on the truck that I can't get into cracks and grooves......tight spaces and stuff.

I used small foam paint brushes for the tight areas. Maybe you can find one small enough

I finally found one and will try it when I get back from vacation. It did turn out nice though.

I am so tired of maintaining the trim on my Passat GLX.
Seems like the trim products fade after 1 or 2 days.
Tried Mothers B2B, and Hyperdressing but nothing seems to last on the car!
