Get yourself some peroxide, butterfly band-aids, and some medical grade super glue... I had a similar cut on my palm and the ambulance was called (previous work) all they did was clean it glue it then band-aid it... All is well now...

If you're going to superglue it at least get the liquid bandaid stuff. Similar to superglue but made for medical use (i.e. is not going to have the "junk" in it someone else mentioned). I know I've heard the regular stuff has been used over the years for medical use, but that was also in cases where it was "glue it shut or the person is dead" and infection is a bit lower on the scale at that point lol.
 
A lot of advice on this thread. Good and Bad.

I have a medical background. I deal with wounds daily.

Disclaimer - this is not my professional advice, only friendly advice.

#1 advice is get it looked at professionally. I cant evaluate it on the net. Joint, tendon and nerve injuries are the biggest problem. Infection is more likely, but, easier to treat than structural damage. infection in the bone or joint itself has a high risk of losing that finger. If you can see bone, you need to be on antibiotics.

#2 it is too late for stitches or glue. After about 12 hours of being open, you dont want to close it. The wound is already colonized with bacteria. Closing it will trap it inside and set up an abcess.

Superglue is not bad for wounds unless you have gotten it dirty somehow. Problem with it is it burns like a mother when placed on wounds. Dermabond is used extensively in ERs and surgeries. It is an isomer of superglue.

Peroxide is only a good idea for dirty or severely infected wounds. IF the wound is clean and healing, Peroxide will slow the healing. It causes cells to rupture. That is great for bacteria, but, also kills the granulating human cells.

Seriously, get it looked at if it is as deep as you say "down to the bone"
 
I don't believe its to the bone. I talked to my cousins who is a surgeon and he said its too late for glue and no mo peroxide. So I will keep the bandage changed and see what happens.

Good. Sounds like he has given you appropriate advice.
 
I did that a couple of years ago with a 1600psi electric. Had my finger on the trigger as I replaced a spray head. Got the head on and shot myself directly in the middle of the palm. I don't know that I've ever felt such pain.

1/4" deep and about 1/2" long. I still cringe thinking about the pain of that one.
