Hey guys,

I am currently working on my company website and want some feedback of what you all think. I want honest feedback. I just started it today so it is not even close to being finished. Cant wait to hear from yall

It looks really good!

I will tell you that you can't charge a fee for processing a credit card, plus you are penny pinching them 2.5% which doesn't look good for you.

So far so good though!

Looks great so far! Did you use a template for your website?

Nice clean design. Reduce the border at top so more of your intro pargraph shows before the user has to scroll. Web studies show that you need to grab the user's attention in the first 5 seconds or they won't read further. Run your text thru a spelling and grammar checker, there are a few errors. For example, first sentence, solution not solutions. You'd be surprised at the interest loss from a simple spelling or gramar mistake. Google it.

Yeah just used a standard template and plugged in a bunch of different headers.

Chevrolet, GMC, Hyundai, KIA, Infiniti, and quite a few others...

These are all the brands whose owners might look at your bottom ribbon and think "Well, he don't even have my brand listed, I'll just go somewhere that doesn't discriminate."

Point being, why put logo's for car companies down there? Is that all you work on? What about motorcycles? Won't work on them? Ditch the logos - they aren't helping establish anything.

Also there are a few grammatical errors here and there - glaring though was "fabric protectorate".

I would agree with the logo issue. Also this is a question, not a statement, can you use their logos without their permission? It's kinda saying you are affiliated with those companies. I honestly don't know, but it is something that popped into my head when I saw it.

Also get rid of the CC fee, you can't charge extra for using a CC, you can only give a discount for using cash.

I agree with the above comments. Plus you FAQ can use a little work to. Home page you might want to shorten it up a little as well. Maybe put a flash picture slide to show your work instead of multiple paragraphs. i'll be honest, i read like 3 sentences and got tired lol. there are plenty out there like me. i think the flash slide is attractive and keeps potential clients on the page. just keep the K.I.S.S method in your head when creating. I feel like all that you have on the home page can go on the about us pge. just my .02

IMO less talk more pictures, some will call you based on pictures alone and wont take the time to read anything. make your contact info very clear and bold. and drop the logos at the bottom, it may not even be legal.just my thoughts....

Where did you get the template form? I've been looking at templatemonster.com and boxedart.com but I can't find anything I like :( I'm looking for something pretty simple like yours

Good ideas EXCEPT the Flash. iPads won't do Flash, and you know how popular they are. Use HTML/Javascript or jQuery.

I'm trying to remember the thread and forum that contains the beading picture (main page) :dunno:. You should use your own pictures from your own work in my opinion.

I would just absorb the credit card fees.. it looks tacky in my view to charge extra to use a credit card. but that's my view. also, are your time estimates pretty much right? It seems you can only make $24/hr. tops... just sayin.

If thats the case I agree 100%! Its one thing to use a stock photo of products, but for cars/work you should really use your own.

Websites are great but it will not bring in much business imo. I nhad one for many years and I never got a customer from the site. When it comes to getting new customers word of mouth will account for most new business

Word of mouth is best, but I have gotten quite a few customers from my website. For how cheap it is there is no reason not to have one.

As a business graduate I can through my two sense in for you, but listen to what others are saying as well. The logo's at the bottom of the design are illegal, and representing or assuming you are affiliated with these companies without their permission could land you some fines. It's in your best interest to get rid of them. I have also noticed that the majority of potential clients choose a company based on their work performed and knowledge within the industry. Your site looks good, but I would suggest only implementing a credit card surcharge later on when the company is more developed. I understand why you charge for a credit card because each provider (visa, mastercard, Amex) charges a percent for you to accept this form of payment, but do away with it for now.

I agree, the fee isn't going to cause you to go broke.... For example on a 100 dollar job the fee is $2.50, I would pay it because accepting cards should be a convenience to the customer.
